MISTAKES WERE MADE, written and directed by Francesca Mirabella,
is a production of The Elkcreek Cinema Collective. Since its inception in 1998 Elkcreek Cinema strives to write and direct narrative shorts, features, and documentaries all inspired by and filmed in the area of Upstate New York.
The last short film produced by the collective, Knife Point, was accepted at: The Sundance Film Festival, The Woodstock Film Festival, The Palm Springs Film Festival, and the New York Film Festival.

Mistakes Were Made- is Elkcreek Cinema's first film by a female film maker.
Mistakes were Made, is a dark coming of age story, set in a rural landscape. It tells of a young lonesome girl, from a sad family who hopes to find solace in the world outside. But she is met with the familiar when she finds a kitten and encounters a strange farm-hand, with piercing eyes. Where is freedom when hope is lost?

This is a project that all of us strongly believe in.
It will and can be a beautiful piece of work, if you all can help us make this project a reality.
As with all projects of art and heart, money is an issue.
Most of us will take time off of work and work for free but there are still many expenses.
With your help, we will be able to make this happen: feed our crew, dress our characters, light our sets, film our scenes, and do it as well as it should be done.
