Z-axis calibration
Endstops installed and tested. First thing the machine needs to know before a print is how far it can move in any direction. This calibration test starts with the extruder nozzle right at the printing surface. It then moves all the way up and records the distance. Design goal was 60mm, measures 64.7mm. The reinforcements on the frame work as expected, it's quite sturdy.
Filament Tension Springs
Pressing the filament into the extruder drive wheel. The leverage of those control arms is enormous, just a tweak on tiny springs produces a wide range of pressure.
I need to cut some new plungers (currently installed are way too long, just placeholders) and install the assembly. Then it should print!
