
After his sister is violently raped by an internet predator, Haze, begins posing under her internet alias in hopes of getting revenge.


My name is Jacob Caro, I love and respect Video Games as a way of emotional expression, art and communication, I only have one goal: For others to enjoy my games. This isn't about profit, or money, I just want the opportunity to tell a story, a story that I've put my heart and soul into. I want a chance to make it a reality and have many people play and experience it.
I'll explain a bit about how the project came to exist. I was a very lonely kid, I did not have many friends, a father, I sunk into Video Games with heavy narratives, story lines, I sunk into them, fell in love with the characters, the story, everything, the feeling of being so, immersed into a story was such a wonderful feeling, I want to give that feeling to others, many others, others of different race, religion, sex, anyone and everyone. The feelings of the writers touched me as a kid, people can be much more sincere when they're telling a story, that pure form of emotional expression is what I want to do, writing is the only way I can easily and clearly express myself to others, I desperately want the chance to do that.
I also hope that when and if others play my games, that I can hope to inspire others as I was inspired before, and I hope that if I so happen to inspire someone, or multiple people, that they'll go on to inspire another, or multiple others.
This is my dream, I am an eighteen year old boy living in Florida of the United States, the project's music composer is a man living in Sweden named "Martin Barreby" who has a dream of being a video game music composer, the character designer "Melody Brown" is a girl living in Canada who has always wanted to bean artist for games, the voice cast for the characters are trying their best to break into acting, I want to make my dreams a reality, while helping all the wonderful people helping me reach their dreams as well.
I'll now supply some details on the actual game for you all!

Haze and Clara don't have the best parents in the world, between their regular drug dealings, and other shady activity, but despite this, Haze and Clara go on living.
Haze, an eighteen year old punk just starting starting to grow up holds a deep bitterness for the world as well as his parents. He tries to protect his sister from the evil in the world he has experienced first hand. Clara, a ten year old girl just starting middle school that's very grown up for her age spends most of her free time online chatting with friends.
One day, Haze returns home to find that his younger sister has been raped, Haze discovers soon after that it was by a person she had been talking to online. After much strife, Clara is sent to a mental hospital to recover after sever mental stress, Haze begins using his sister's online screen name to lure out other internet predators in hopes of, in his own way, getting revenge on the world.
Anonymous Agony follows the parallel Stories of Haze and Clara.
As Clara heals and heads towards eventual recovery, Haze heads towards his own downfall.

Bio: Haze is an eighteen year old punk that won't hesitate to tell someone
off to their face, be it a regular person, cop, or whoever.
He enjoys rubbing people's faults in their faces, especially people that refuse
to accept them theirselves. Haze knows who he is and isn't afraid to show
it, he rarely lets outside opinions affect him. Haze can see through most
people very well, almost perfectly. He doesn't believe in selfless action, or
sincerity so when he actually encounters individuals that have these traits he
tends to judge them all wrong.
After an accident that almost took her life, Haze grew very close to his
younger sister Clara, she is the only person he can even partially
emotionally level with. Haze is very protective of his sister, but doesn't
show it directly and instead tries to leave her snarky hidden warnings
about the crappy state of people disguised as one of his many complaints.

Bio: Clara is a ten year old girl that's very bright and chipper almost all the
time. She usually only gets angry at Haze for being rude to people,
and ends up using "Ass" to describe him more than his actual name.
Clara can be a little bratty sometimes but even when she tries to hold a
grudge with Haze she usually gives up on it pretty early on. Her favorite
meal is breakfast, and her favorite things TO have are Juice, Jam, & Eggs.

Bio: Craig is a middle aged police officer, he rarely has fun and works almost
constantly, even at home. He rarely loses his tired expression and
overworks himself daily.
A case of an assault that gravely injured his wife was left unsolved,
causing him to act over obsessive with cases, further pursuing them long
after his colleagues have given up. His constant serious attitude, lack of
emotion, and robot like work ethic earned him the nickname of "Robo"
with the younger officers in his department.
Underneath all his stress and emotional baggage rests a cop that just
wants desperately to help people and do his part. His selfless desire to
help and his own personal self interests do tend to blend together
uncontrollably a lot. But both are there.

However, one of the goals of this campaign is to have the resources to port to other platforms like PSN and Xbox Live Arcade. Even low end computers should be able to run Anonymous Agony with no problems.

The $15 dollar pledge gives you a bit of everything, some free tracks, a chance to create a character, and the first three paid episodes free. Instead of only receiving all the episodes. There will be a maximum of 25 episodes and a minimum of 12-13.
The key story events will be retained, but other things will be cut if needed, the popularity and sales will fluctuate the total episode count inside the above margin.

The story is told in an episodic manner, similar to a television Drama.
It's all one story line. -
Each episode, with the exception of the first one, will be at least two hours long, maybe longer if the episode calls for it.

I've known victims of the crime, and studied it's after effects intently. In both men, women, and children.
Anonymous Agony only centers around the recovery on one rape victim, I do understand just how multi-layered the recover process can be, self blame, feelings of worthlessness, anger, so many horrible emotions that this atrocious act can cause. I tell you that only one victim is shown to hopefully reassure you that I will be taking care, I will show every step of her recovery, and hopefully portray to people just how horribly scarred these victims can become.
I am taking extreme caution to express the long process of her recovery in hopes of helping people understand, and show others that recovery IS possible.Rape victims are not the only victims, their friends and family also suffer. I know how real this is, and what I'm doing, I know that this could backlash on me, as well as the whole team.

All the art is finalized that has been shown, some may be edited in a minor way, but that is all. Amy will be illustrating the promotional art. She will also handle most of the in-game story illustrations, similar to a storybook, or visual novel.

The game is played like an interactive story, you do gain control of Haze, you can explore your house and your town in real time, you do this to gain clues, buy supplies, or just talk to the citizens. The online chatting, boils down to dialogue trees, with numerous choices.
The main sections of gameplay are: Exploration/Investigation, Chatting online with detailed multi branching dialogue choices, and lastly our equivalent to "Boss Fights" Which I can't speak about yet. The main focus of this game will be the story though, so you can expect many scenes in between.

No, but that's when we're expecting the first payed episode to be released. We're aiming to release an episode every one to two months, if possible the former.

$1000 is enough for what we need, most of the team is working for free, we mainly need to pay for art material, voice acting, and some graphical/coding assistance. I actually handle a good portion of the work personally.

Sales volume WILL affect how many episodes there are, but regardless, we'll finish it up. The overall length of the series depends on sales and popularity, but if we do have to end it, we'll wrap it up while maintaining the key planned events.
We'll only have to discontinue the game without finishing if...well, if something happened to me, or an important team member. Since development is handled by a small team, it's very unlikely anything will cause the cancellation of the project. Most of the
music is finished, and lost artists and actors can be replaced if needed.
