A quick synopsis...
All that remains at the end of the world are the robots and the whispered memories of the humans that once were. One such robot is Artie, but unlike all of the others he not only remembers his creator but, because of the special bond they shared, carries his creator’s passion and drive to complete the robot utopia that they started together. But does Artie possess enough passion to overcome the repressive ennui of the grease stained world of manufacturing to fulfill his creator’s life-long dream? More importantly, will Artie be able to restore Gidget, his own true love, to her former vibrancy? Or will he, like so many around him slip slowly into a rusted state of despondency and disrepair?

How this process all began...
I grew up believing that I would write and direct movies someday. In 6th grade I wrote the sequel to Scream, a Wes Craven film, Scream 2. I sent it in to Dimension Films believing I would be asked to help collaborate with the writers. Unfortunately, I was given a rejection letter, saying they were in production with Scream 2 but appreciated my effort. Needless to say it wasn't the best script and came to a grand total of 20 pages. However I was determined to make movies. It wasn't until I enrolled at the Art Institute of Colorado when I started collaborating and making short films. I found out that I loved animation, especially stop-motion animation. Under the wing of a couple of animation professors I created a stop-motion called The Big Toe. Since then I have been researching the history of stop-motion, influential films/shorts and the technical achievements that went along with their success.
My goal now is to make a very professional, new style of stop-motion animation that is very clean and smooth and what better subject matter to start with than robots. This is the reason that the budget is higher than most shorts. We want to build the program, the robots and the track that they will be moving on. This will also include new camera movements with intricate rigging systems, creative trucking and GO PRO shots. I started off by collaborating with a two time regional Emmy award-winning writer to create a beautiful script that captures the gritty desolation of Robot Land and the drive, love and frustration of the main character Artie. Now with polished script in hand I have assembled a very talented team to create this world. I understand that this is a collaborative process and therefore, have surrounded myself with incredibly talented and intelligent people so that we can work together to overcome any obstacles!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Our biggest risk and challenge comes down to how accurately we were able to budget our project. Since our goal is to explore and execute a new way of approaching and capturing stop motion animation we had to employ quite a few educated guesses when it came to budgeting. To that end we have done a lot of research and agonized over where we can cut costs and where we need to really allocate our money to successfully complete this endeavor. However, should we find that we did miss the mark with our budget and we come up short of funds, we have worked in several areas where we can downsize the concept, or reduce materials to cut costs without sacrificing the integrity of the overall image and final product. And never fear, the fulfillment of the backer's rewards is not one of the areas that we would ever consider downsizing! =)
