About this project

I was inspired to write this story after seeing Bergman's film "Scenes From a Marriage". The scenario of a sophisticated couple's long union was fairly interesting but suddenly I was glued to the screen as I witnessed their divorce. What amazed me was the amount of raw feeling and emotion that bubbled in both their hearts at a time when everything is supposed to be over between two people.

I walked around for a good week playing the scenes back in my head and imagining what it must be like to end a promise to someone you once loved enough to commit to completely. It is a time when the world must seem upside down and yet there are still jobs to go to, meals to prepare and people to converse with as if everything is normal.

And so "Tom and Sabrina Divorce" was born- a study of a young married couple who have separated and must get on with their daily lives post break up.

I think we all learned something about divorce and breaking up as we shot the film. Mainly that despite the histrionics and nastiness, some small fragment of love always remains, taking refuge in a dark and dusty corner until it's safe to sit on the mantle piece again- hence the tag line "A Love Story".

Now that "Tom and Sabrina" has been shot, we need to get on with post production.. Everyone and everything has been paid and reimbursed up until this point. We have excellent footage and the film's potential is HUGE.

The money we are raising will go towards editing, color correction, sound design and finally entering as many film festivals as possible.

We have an award winning editor who is willing to give us her skills at a highly reduced rate but I need to be sure I can pay her before asking her to continue the process.

We want to make sure the film is the best it can be so it may go the distance it truly deserves. For this to happen, we need to make sure we are technically up to scratch. The sound, visuals and musical composition need to be fine tuned. Should any dubbing or pick ups be required for a great final product, we would like to be able to do that also.

What money remains at the end of all this will be used for film festival entries so that we can get this great little film into the public eye. Then, who knows where it will go?! And you will be in on the ride.
