Update #3: Why Women Just Say What They Mean??
"Are you mad??" "No, I'm not mad.....it's fine."
Why don't women just say what they mean?? Well, as atavistic as it may seem, society has taught women that it is not particularly ladylike to express negative emotions such as anger. In addition, woman is a highly introspective creature. Quite often her reluctance to immediately publicize her thoughts and feelings...

American Gentleman Magazine on December 19
Handsome and elegant African-American actor Alimi Ballard recalls such contemporaries as the St. Elsewhere-era Denzel_Washington and Blair Underwood, but has only gradually begun to draw like stature and acclaim. After cutting his acting chops as a frequent guest star on various U.S. television series for decades, including Loving, NYPD Blue, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Ballard worked his way up to recurring roles in several U.S. television programs around the turn of the millennium. Ballard is perhaps best known for his portrayal of urban philosopher Herbal Thought, who offered wise counsel to bioengineered superhero Max Guevara (Jessica_Alba), on the James Cameron-produced apocalyptic actioner Dark_Angel (2000), starring Jessica_Alba. Ballard procured another regular TV role a few years later, playing Special Agent David Sinclair opposite Rob_Morrow and Judd_Hirsch in the weekly procedural Numb3rs (2005), a detective program about a brilliant mathematician (David_Krumholtz) who helps the feds solve baffling crimes. Ballard also appeared in bit roles in the big-screen films Deep Impact (1998) and Men of Honor (2000).

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
When this all started I had no idea so many people would be interested and inspired by “The Gentleman” platform. Just a few short years ago starting a magazine brand dedicated to the gentleman lifestyle was nowhere in the realm of what I believed possible. I was like a lot of us, going though life trying to figure out what makes some people successful and others not. Many people have talent, but not all succeed. I realized that the defining characteristic that separates the truly successful from the dreamers is simply drive. That is, the dedication and hard work it takes to actualize your vision; knowing what you want your life to be and not letting anything stand in your way. As simplistic as that sounds, it’s not an easy thing to do…but the rewards are worth it.
Taking a risk and believing in yourself will enable you to travel places you never imagined. When I made the decision to change my life there were forces around me that caused much heartache and had me second-guessing myself. Even friends and family will question your actions and tell you it can’t be done, but for every thousand individuals who gave up on their dreams upon the word of their first non-believer, one person pushed through and made that dream a reality.
Those who are successful will tell you this is not an easy path, and not everyone has the chops for it – if that were the case everyone would have a mansion in the hills and be driving a Rolls Royce.
MY DREAM was to create a publication I could share with the world that covered all of the things I love most about life. Starting American Gentleman with very little money and limited resources presented obvious difficulties, however, I believed in myself. I believed in my vision, and most importantly I believed in my audience. I knew there had to be others who, like me, wanted to see a publication that was positive and promoted traditional values while addressing the modern trends and considerations of today’s man.
Passion, Drive, Determination, Success: these are the words used by every successful CEO and entrepreneur...but do we really know what they mean and how to apply them to our daily lives? Through the platform of American Gentleman I hope to answer these questions for those who aspire for greatness, just as I do—no substitute will be accepted.
To quote Field of Dreams, “Build it and they will come.” …and you have!
