There’s nothing more taboo than talking about sex…

... unless you’re talking about subprime mortgage loans.  

That’s the premise of the Talk, a four-minute film about one of those most awkward father/son talks ever, choosing the right financial institution to "close the deal" with, all while stuck on the middle of a lake.

I love comedy that says something.  Del Close was channeling the sages when he said "comedy is about truth."  You see the mirror is so much easier to handle when we're laughing about it.  And once upon a time, not that long ago, we were avoiding a huge elephant in the room: how dangerous getting a loan really could be. 

This is why I made the Talk.

And now I'm just asking for a little TARP money to get it finished.   

The Talk has already been shot (hence footage and production still above) but due to some unforeseen circumstances (aka construction at the lake we were shooting at) the sound needs a complete overhaul.  Luckily, I am totally blessed to have the most awesome Sound Designer ever to bail me out: the absolutely amazing David Van Slyke of Slick Sounds (who has been nominated for six times for Sound Editing at the Emmy's. Awesome!).  If anyone's gonna get my characters speaking, it's him! 

But getting the Talk to talk is gonna require ADR, Foley, the works!  Even if you don't know what these words mean, know this: they are whole lot of expensive.  (Our Kickstarter goal isn't even the sticker price, that's with everyone who's worked on the project already chipping in!).
