Vyt Pics!
May was by far the best month of my year so far! Thanks to you guys! Sorry I wasn't better at posting updates I was so busy and I left my camera cord at home! But, I thought of all of you often while I was basking in the glory of making A. R. T. I believe I made some real progress while I was there I feel like I understand what I'm making a lot more. Also, I have already started applying to juried shows which has been on my to-do list for nearly a year and I finally feel like I'm ready to put my work out there.
There were many accomplishments! I fired the weirdest gas kiln I have ever seen, I made awesome work in clay and some very interesting work in other materials. There were some minor mishaps, the pottery I made while ended up super wacky. The colors were beautiful thanks to the amazing Mason stains I purchased with your support but the glaze did many strange sad things... so I will be making more while I am at Interlochen and I can ship them out sometime in July!
Another great accomplishment, I got over my fear of birds! there were two chickens there and the one on the left followed me around for three days until I finally gave up and became friends with her.
I took pictures of the house the big bay window on the second floor was where I got to sleep it was beautiful, I got to work in two places the painting barn (which has amazing light) and the sculpture studio which used to be a green house it looked so cool at night! I took pictures of the basement (inside the house) because where else can you see a pegboard with great sharpie outlines, a million bolts and some strange marble figures all in one place? I will be contacting everyone shortly for your shipping info. I also included a picture of the ceramics in my car because it was too cute to ignore, they were ready for the road trip!
