We have liftoff!
Hello KICKSTARTERS. THANK YOU!!! for checking us out and pledging our project. It means more to us than we can ever express. Please tell your friends and family and help us spread the word....we know that with your help we will hit our funding goal and start making STEELIE's. 23 days to go!
Our MAZAK lathe is officially dead. This machine is destined for the scrap heap (and taking STEELIE along with it) unless we hit our funding goal. We know HOW to make STEELIE's, but we can't make them unless we have a machine.
We wanted to address some FAQ's we have received:
1. Why is international shipping $40.00? A: because we want to be sure you receive your STEELIE. We use USPS International Express so we can track your STEELIE to your door.
2. How does the STEELIE magnet attach to my tablet or phone? A: STEELIE uses a high performance 3M adhesive to attach to tablets and phones. The adhesive is a 1 time use adhesive. We will send you new adhesives free of charge for the life of the STEELIE. To remove the adhesive, swab rubbing alcohol between the ring magnet and the device. SLOWLY the bond will dissolve allowing you to remove the magnet. Patience is key in removing the adhesive. The STEELIE dash ball uses the same 3M adhesive to adhere and can be removed the same way. STEELIE will not leave a mark if you use a bit of non-silicone cleaner/protectant to return your dash to its original condition.

A 2 day (12 hours total) course in our "Makin' it, not Faking' it" School. Bring your design idea to life! We will let you into our shop in Boulder and show you how to design, engineer and machine your own creation out of a piece of metal. Day 1 will focus on design and engineering. Day 2 you will get to start machining your design on all of our machines including the Mazak lathe. Our designers (Andy) and machinists (Frank) will walk you through the process and help you finish your product. Materials may cost extra depending on design. Lunch and one night stay at the beautiful Hotel Boulderado included. Dates subject to availability. Also included, a complete STEELIE MagDaddy Kit.
