Update #10: Post-Production-Apocalypse
Post Production is in full swing. We're cutting together the episodes, writing music, working on the CGI and generally bringing the world to life. The trailer is just days away from a big launch, so stay tuned.
We have a new tutorial up, this one the first in a series on directing. It shows a little bit (no spoilers!) of the locations and costume of the upcoming series.
There are also unconfirmed rumors circulating of an Alternative Reality Game (ARG) to coincide with the series launch. Clues may be hidden in the physical and digital world, and may be pieced together to gain access to hidden content (and even prizes). Best keep an eye out: No detail is too small.

Update #9: Shoot Week
Greetings, Silent City Folk.
We had a week of shooting after Easter and the results were greater than we could have hoped for. Over 4 days we did over 200 setups, got close to 320 different shots, had two friendly visits from police (it pays to have a permit) and devoured 2 whole boxes of power bars.
It was a pretty great week by any standard. We had some amazing luck with light and weather, everyone gave their all and the team really came together.
We'll cover the details in upcoming tutorials (we shot around 20 hours of behind-the-scenes footage) but in short: it pays to be prepared, to surround yourself with people that care about the project and are passionate about what they do. Having 2 cameras definitely helps.
Zombie week is still in a holding pattern. We are keen to do this as soon as possible and to give everyone plenty of notice so they can make plans, but a key member of the team is currently in U.S. visa-limbo and we don't want to plan anything until we know they will be back for the shoot.

Excellent news. Hopefully the visa limbo will be easily solved. I am no expert, but I think they probably had permits for shooting in a public location.

Update #7: The Final 24 Hours
We've come a long way in the past 30 days. Only one month ago, we were just a group of filmmakers who had a crazy idea.
Now we are a 240+ strong collective transforming that idea into a reality.
Thank you to everyone who has backed us. Thank you to everyone who has 'liked' us, shared us, retweeted us and generally shown us love. Without you, this never would have happened. We're working everyday to produce a series you can be proud of.

The Zombie Horde is now 23 people strong. We need around 50 people to film the shots we have in mind, so we're taking drastic action.

Only yesterday we closed a deal to shoot the series on the Epic cameras from RED. These 5k digital monsters are some of the best around, and have an amazing HDR capacity to produce stunning images in low and natural light situations. The end of the world will be beautiful beyond belief.

Update #6: The Ten Thousand Dollar Question
We're very happy to announce that we reached our original goal of $10,000 on Friday. Thanks to you, The Silent City is on the way to become a real live project!
Where to now?
We have had such a great response and so much interest in the series, we want to double down and go beyond the scale we had originally envisioned.
Echos
We have started writing a 'series within a series' known as 'Echos of the Silent City': 4 episodes that cover the backstory of the main characters and how they survived the event that decimated the planet. These will only be available to backers. If we reach our new target of $15,000, we will produce these in addition to the 5 episodes we have planned.
New Tutorial
Now that we are certified funded, we can tell everyone else what to do. We're kidding: It was you guys that made the campaign the success its become. And with that in mind, the new tutorial is the one we've had the most requests for - advice on running a Kickstarter campaign.
10k > 9k
When Kickstarter superstars Video Game High School made a tribute video for their backers based on the infamous 'Over 9000' meme, we figured we'd follow suit (and give it a Silent City twist). Enjoy.

Writer/Director Rubidium Wu trained as a painter, but like many artists of his generation, became fascinated with emerging technologies and the new worlds they could create.
Over the last 10 as a filmmaker, he produced the art documentary 'Portraits of Silence' as well as directed commercials for Nike, Playstation, and Nintendo.
Originally from Australia, Rubidium now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
