It's been a little while coming but...
... here is our basic gameplay video!*
This is only intended as a demonstration of some of the core mechanics, just so you can get a taster of what to expect.
We’ve also filmed a second video, continuing the game on for another five rushes. This will be made available in the couple of weeks – check this one out and look out for Part 2 coming soon!
* we realize the audio is a little bit shaky in places but we didn't want to keep you waiting any longer :o)
Shipping Dates
We also promised news on shipping dates. The vast majority of the reward levels** will ship in December 2012 (or earlier if we can manage it!), with the following exceptions:
- Everything from DreadBall Season 2 onwards - including Wildcard and the Female Corporation Team.
- Gorim Ironstone, Number 88, John Doe and Buzzcut MVPs
The front page Striker! image has now been updated to show this information.
** reward levels that include painted armies and/or unique sculpts will vary.
New Stretch Goals
Since we're so close to getting Season 2 underway with our latest Stretch Goals, we thought we'd post up some more for you to sink your teeth into!
$210,000 - Team Keepers
The DreadBall rulebook contains rules for both League Player and Player advancement. When a player goes up a rank, they get a roll on an advancement table, meaning that a Guard can potentially gain the Keeper ability.

A Keeper is issued with new armour and a DreadBall glove, though unfortunately he is not really trained in its proper use and simply uses it to cannon the ball downfield. Unlike pure Guards who cannot Pick up the Ball or catch, a Keeper can, though he cannot Throw the ball like a Jack or a Striker, but they do have a unique action called Punt.
If we pass this stretch goal, we'll produce a Keeper model for the Trontek 29ers, Greenmoon Smackers, Skittersneak Stealers and the Midgard Delvers. If you want to get these awesome new figures, we've created a Special Keeper Bundle ($15) where you'll get four models for the price of two - grab it in the Extras now! (note: Keepers will also be made available separately.)
$220,000 - Wyn Greth'zki, All-Star Season 2 MVP
We're going to be having a bit of fun during this Kickstarter with certain special players, and this one has a touch of the Superstar Sportsman about him. If we hit this stretch goal we'll sculpt and produce Wyn Greth'zki - a limited edition Kickstarter MVP (you'll only be able to pick him up on Kickstarter and one or two other places as well) - and we'll add him to Striker!

Early Concept Art with alternative designs for the head and legs to choose - let us know in the comments which you prefer!
Wyn Greth’ski was once consigned to the dank back rooms of the advanced cybernetics laboratories on Ico IV; a by-product of failed A.I. research and over-ambitious technicians stretching too far, too quickly. Wyn was eventually sold on to one of the major league sponsors as parts but was instead re-programmed; the game’s history and the tactics of the sport’s greatest players downloaded straight into its knowledge banks. Whether it was by some coding coincidence or that the scientists were too quick to abandon their project, it turned out that Wyn couldn’t just play like the greats, he could adapt what they did, optimizing their performances and maximizing the output. Put to the test, Wyn soon became legendary for his ability to analyze the game, process a response and enact it in milliseconds. So 'talented' is Wyn that he has become the center of debate regarding fairness and the use of robotics in the Major Leagues.
Cheers, and please leave us your comments below!

The concept art coming through has been fantastic. My preference would be arm B, leg C, head B or C.
Creator Omphalos on September 11, 2012
Myself I prefer : head B or C (in this order), legs B. For the arm it's a bit more complicated : I like both, especially for the shoulders (although, I really like the protect shoulder of the original model) but I'm sure to prefer the hand of arm B.
Creator Matthew in Yuma on September 11, 2012
I like the base arms myself and head b
Creator Ken Neal on September 11, 2012
Designs for Wyn Greth'ski look ace.
I prefer arm B, head C and leg C.
Creator Kiwamu on September 11, 2012
A lot seem to love Head B and Arms B. It's only the legs where tastes differs a bit more ^-^!
Creator Craig Johnson on September 11, 2012
I like the original legs, alternate arms B, and alternate head B. The original legs look the most stable (B legs look like high heels), the three fingered arm looks like it would be more useful, and head B looks heavily armored, like a helmet.
Creator Rowan P. C. Tritton on September 11, 2012
In regards to Wyn Greth'ski I like:
-Head B
-Arms B
-Legs C
Also any chance we can get like 50 to 100 (or more) of them, maybe with alternate dynamic poses and perhaps with it's arms generally posed to allow for the easy inclusion of some Geth Pulse Rifles...
Wait, I meant to type Greth Pulse Rifles.... Yeah and maybe some Greth Javelin Sniper Rifles, Greth Plasma Shotguns and Greth Plasma SMGs... Oh and maybe a Greth Spitfire or two, just enough for a little army capable of being MASSively EFFECTive... Okay I'll stop with the bad references now :D
Cheers
Rowan/LSWSjr
Creator Stilettoblade on September 11, 2012
I like the original legs, and the B head and B arms ( as said before, 2 finger gripper seems less than ideal)
Creator William Adam McDuff on September 10, 2012
I wonder if Wyn'll be a Striker or a Jack? The original #99 could score and how, but is best known for being in his office behind the net and setting up goals.
Creator William Adam McDuff on September 10, 2012
That's like take 23 after 22 rolls of "What? I failed again? Seriously, do we have any trick dice?" Or at least it would be if I was rolling.
I like A, A, A on #99 there. :)
Creator Duncan on September 10, 2012
I agree with Kevin on the arms and legs. The tow-toes foot (C) looks too organic (at least in the sketch) and B looks like he's wearing high heels.
I also agree with James about the head. Anyone with even an ounce of Mass Effect knowledge is going to look at this model and think "Geth".
Creator Kevin Behan on September 10, 2012
Head - Doesn't Matter
Arms - B
Legs - A
Needs at least three fingers to handle dem balls!
Creator Mike de Jong on September 10, 2012
@Eric: It used to say "American Superstar Sportsman" in the post, but they took out the "American" part later (from us hoseheads going "... Wait a sec now"). :)
@James: I think the Keeper stuff and Wyn Greth'zki are unrelated. That being said, its supposed to be programmed with all sorts of star player stats, so it could potentially count as a Keeper/Guard, Jack, OR Striker. Because... Robots!
Creator James Berg on September 10, 2012
Why would you name a goalkeeper player after Wayne Gretzky? I'm glad to see the reference, but it's misplaced.
Please don't make him look like a Geth. Not worth the slim chance of legal garbage - you guys have a ton of talent for original sculpting.
Creator Eric Mills on September 10, 2012
I don't see anywhere that Mantic said Gretzky was anything other than Canadian... Just sayin'.
I see Geth mostly in the head, personally. Although, I would avoid arm B and leg C if I were producing them.
Creator Lee on September 10, 2012
Love the Keeper concept, hope to see the others at some point as well! Wyn looks fun, I like the concept as is with the exception of adding alternate arm b. Keep it up guys!
Creator Neil Shuck on September 10, 2012

I agree with previous comments - surely Forge Fathers should get their MVP in first release?
Creator Blair on September 10, 2012
Wayne Gretzky is Canadian, not American. Just sayin'
Creator Ben Boersma on September 10, 2012
Perhaps a timed exclusive rather than total exclusive. I'm in for striker, but I'd hate others to not have an option of getting him further down the line.
Creator Prouddaddy0312 on September 10, 2012
I like him with the exception of the arm I like the alternate more

Creator Matt Gilbert on September 10, 2012
Head B.
Leg A and C! One of each... after all, it was a rejected experiment...
Creator Chris on September 10, 2012
TBH I don't like the idea of us getting an exclusive that later adopters can't have. Creates bad blood I think between those that don't hear of the kickstarter or otherwise can't buy in now.
Put him on hold till late 2013, fairy snuff, but to never release to new players isn't on. I wouldn't like it if I heard about this after the event.
Unless you also have a general release model - thats fine. This is then an exclusive version, so others are locked out of fielding him.
Creator Jack B. on September 10, 2012
yeah! Head B, Leg C vote for me!
Creator Stilettoblade on September 10, 2012
@Matt Jett... I think the Forge Fathers actually got their MVP (Gorim Ironstone) before the Veer-myn got theirs - he was the very first MVP stretch goal.
Creator Ben Stewart on September 10, 2012
Really pleased to see keeper models, they'll add some variety to the teams nicely. And that MVP is pretty darn cool too. Oh and before I forget... yay! Season 2!
Creator Tasker on September 10, 2012

Wayne's a failure in some corners of the U.S. (The four corners area, that is...)
Creator Francois Couture Hébert on September 10, 2012
Wyn Greth'ski need to be redesigned I guess. It look goods, but too much lika a Geth from Mass Effect and you don't mess with EA :(
Creator Rich Hawkins on September 10, 2012
Wyn Greth'zki.... Love it :)
Creator Jason Jackowski on September 10, 2012
Is there a limit to how many Keeper sets we can order?
Is there a limit to how many Wyn Greth'zki's we can play at once? :)
Creator Martin Dickson on September 10, 2012
Head B, Arm B, legs original, or B.
Creator Bolognesus on September 10, 2012
I take it the keepers ship Q2, too?
Creator Matt Jett on September 10, 2012
Sucks to be a dwarf, with them being the only team of the original four to not get a MVP model at launch.
Creator trent howie on September 10, 2012
the head of Wyn Greth’ski is the head of the geth from mass effect
Creator Adam Clarke on September 10, 2012
Head B, Arm B, Original legs.
Creator Y. Chung on September 10, 2012
Head C, Arm B, Leg C
Creator Lee Lowe on September 10, 2012
Arm B head A either leg is cool with me.
Creator Michael Harsch on September 10, 2012
Just to Clarify to the UK creators of this game on Wayne.. His US career is more or less irrelevant to us Canadians, he got 4 Stanley cups as an Edmonton Oiler, and is in every since of the word a Canadian National Hero. Please don't insult him or us Canadians by implying, stating, or defending him as a US hockey player.. Canada doesn't have a lot on the world stage, but Hockey is one of our few things we are great at. Tread carefully the treatment of other peoples hero's
Creator Vegabond on September 10, 2012
