In 2008, I set out to prove through a modest 30 image portrait series that there was a deep diversity to Obama's supporters.  The series quickly grew into 500 individual portraits, the website received over 2.5 million hits in under 3 weeks, and a book was produced. 

Americans of every race, religion, gender, and age stood up for a leader who shared their views in the upcoming election, summing up their feelings in three words: "i am Obama".  My goal was to create and share a positive message of diversity and unity.  The series was viewed all over the world via the site, being shared by its participates, friends, friends of friends and complete strangers.  

I wish to continue this project with another series entitled "We are Obama." This time I want to take my photography across the country, and truly get an amazing cross section of the American people who still believe that President Obama is the right vehicle for positive change in this country.

I wish to travel the country over the course of 6 weeks, starting in August, shooting in blue states, red states, and battle ground states.  The money raised will go entirely to production cost to get this project going!  I will be maintaining a website that will be constantly updated with travel days, locations, and images from the project as i complete them. I want to dive into this project again, taking pictures of more amazing, real people and then sharing that with whoever has an interest!

I would hope, much like the last project, that these portraits will strike a chord with people and motivate them to get out there and vote in the next election.
