3/27/10 UPDATE:
We have reached our initial goal of $2,500! But here's the joke: we are actually going for $5,000. We set what we felt would be reasonable starting goal at $2,500 to ensure that we could get funded. If you take a look at some of our expenses, you'll see that we are actually pretty far from our goal:

Plane Tickets: $4,000
Van Rental for the month: $1,250 - $2,000
Gas for the month: $1,000 - $1,750
Merch reprinting (we are almost out of CDs and are out of a shirt design!): $500 - $750
Miscellaneous expenses (i.e. food, and booking fees for the shows that I can't book and need to use a booking agent for): some more money

Total: A LOT

So, keep on keeping on guys. If you have Facebook or Myspace, tell your friends! Email your associates, colleges, and family members!

One Band. One Dream.
...or Two Bands. Four Dreams.
Either way, we would love to be able to tour Europe.
So help us out, why not?

First, some background for you:

WITT is an instrumental band from San Diego, CA that falls somewhere within the genres of experimental, progressive, instrumental, math rock, or something along those lines. The band was started by three high school pals in August of 2007 when the boys were Sophomores and is named after their music teacher Mr. Witt. Now these boys have become young men and are spending their first years in college. Unfortunately, this has separated the band across two coasts but WITT is still alive and kickin' with a West Coast tour this coming Summer and a Europe tour in Winter of 2010 (assuming all goes to plan!)

Snuffaluffagus is a musical endeavor created by songwriter Chris Braciszewski, an enthusiast of many musical tastes. Snuffaluffagus was born outside a home studio project and over the last couple of years has progressed into a collective of collaborating musicians that involve the likes of Japandi, Alex Kent (Say Anything, ex-Lances Hero), BoomSnake (ex-Pascalle, Weatherbox, Say Anything, Lances Hero), and Brian Warren (Weatherbox). In the coming months, Snuffaluffagus will be hitting the road with WITT as the band for the SnuffaluffaWITT West Coast and Europe tours (once again, assuming all goes to plan!)

I mentioned "assuming all goes to plan" in discussing the Europe tour. That is because it turns out it costs a lot of money to get over to Europe from the US. Like a lot of money. We have managed to get a pretty good guarantee for shows and have done our best to cut costs at every place we can but we are still short on money. The goal of this tour is not to make money, but more to just be able to share our music with people we think will legitimately enjoy it (and hopefully at least break even in the process.)

Here is a breakdown of some of our expenses so you can see what we're working witt:
1. Plane Tickets: approx. $1,000 USD per person X 4 people = $4,000 USD
2. Car Rental (we need to get around somehow): approx. $1,000-$1,500 euros for the whole tour
3. Merch printing: We are all out of copies of "There's Blood EP" and have only a few left of "Whip" we also need to reprint some shirts! This could come up to around $500!
4. Food: Naw, we'll manage. Forget about this one.
5. Etc.

In short, I can go on and on with expenses we'll face along our journey but it would probably just bore you. (Besides, the whole dollar to Euro conversion thing gets a bit confusing after a while)

We are doing everything we can to reduce costs and save money over the coming months. All of the money we have made and will make this year from shows and merch will go straight towards this tour (not towards us going to Jack In The Box.) This West Coast tour has been planned to be another opportunity for us to make some money in order to make Europe a reality.

That's why we have turned to Kickstarter to seek help. We have set a goal for $2,500 to cover some of our transportation costs.
Even though we will end up needing more money, this will certainly kick-start us (get it??) to make our dream a reality.

We have offered a wide variety of rewards for those who help us out: from CDs to Vinyl, private concerts to custom written & recorded songs, to personalized postcards & thank you's in the liner notes, our rewards are varied and plenty!

Any help, literally ANY help, will be greatly appreciated. If you can't spare any money but like what we're doing please spread the word.
