Update #18: Happy New Year! 2012 is already looking good!
Happy New Years to all my Kickstarter backers! Things are developing rapidly for me after the campaign completed. My website will change soon and I’ve had a number of opportunities open up which I would like to keep you informed of as time goes by. It looks like 2012 is going to be a very good year.
I have about 4 large canvases to complete and photograph before I layout the catalog. Once it’s published and I send out the remaining rewards, and the Kickstarter project is complete, I’d like to migrate everyone who is interested to my website and subscribe to my newsletter. This is how you will be able to track the results of your support and my ongoing career. With any luck your rewards will increase in value rapidly!
In the midst of the activity in my studio I have also formed a new business you might be interested in called Sketchy Art and Culture Tours. It’s an art and travel company operated by me, Beth and our friend Marianne Filloux. Our first project offers tours in France in the summer of 2012. You can learn more at the website www.sketchytours.com. I hope you can join us.
From what I’ve learned about the art market people are still buying art. The highest end art never slowed down. The middle art markets are simply looking for great deals. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

Update #17: Progress
I've been busy painting thanks to you.
I'll be contacting many backers soon and start sending out rewards next week. You can check out some of the new Moments of Insight paintings included in an application I made to ART TAKES MIAMI. This is a part of the SCOPE art show which takes place concurrently with the Art Basel/ Miami show this December. These are some of the shows the galleries I'm looking at attend.

Update #16: Down to Business
Another round of thanks to all of you before I get down to business.
The success of this campaign is a result of all of your support, confidence, and belief in my work and I am extremely thankful for it. Without your help I clearly wouldn’t have met, or exceeded, my financial goal and discovered the conversations between me, art and all of you. With these conversations a reality, you have allowed me to proceed into this project with confidence. This experience, the work, the catalog, and the support of my backers I feel as though I have an advantage far greater than the total dollar amount. I will always remember your help in getting me on my way.
The Moments of Insight project funded on August 4, 2011. You should be seeing your pledges on credit card bills soon if you haven’t already. Now it’s time for me to get to work and provide you with your rewards.
I’d like to make sure I have your correct mailing address so I can ship your art to the right place. I’m not sure how it will look but through Kickstarter I will send you a survey to ask for this. I expect to start mailing out rewards by the end of September. If you have any travel plans let me know so I can accommodate the delivery of your art wherever you want it to arrive. Please confirm all of your contact information as well as mailing address. This is also a good time to inform me of any art preferences you might have or special notes.
There may be some choices for specific categories. I’ll send a separate Kickstarter survey to backers by category with those questions. I’ll post images of new works on www.chaucersilverson.com as they’re completed. In the survey you’ll see a choice of allowing me to select a piece of art for you or making a selection yourself from the website. You can always call or email me if you have questions or want some clarification on specific pieces of art.
Through out the completion of the Moments of Insight project you’ll be included with Kickstarter updates for the project as outlined in the campaign. At some point in the future you’ll also have the option to be included on updates from me for developments in my work and what this project has lead to. I hope you choose to keep in touch and follow progress on my work you helped launch.

This custom service is provided as a new media management program for artists of all kinds and includes a website domain name, a website made from information, images and ideas provided by an artist that can be managed (accessed, modified, and maintained) by the artist/owner or through contract by me, an outline of a marketing program, help establishing a Google analytics Account and guidance setting up a Google AdWords account. This reward also offers two methods of taking credit cards that cost nothing to set up and maintain, only take a fee when you take a payment and allow you to set up “click to buy” sales from a website, send an invoice with method of payment to an individual, take a card over the phone or in person. This program puts artists in today’s online world of representation. This reward can be for the backer or gifted to another artist. Contact me for additional details.

Chaucer Silverson is a watercolor and acrylic painter living in Bozeman, Montana. His art includes abstract work, and landscapes. With your help he can pursue his series of paintings titled Moments of Insight, document the work, the concepts, and publish a catalog to share with backers and promote his art.
