@MikeBuebe What info specifically, the "open documentation"?
I too am disappointed in the lack of updates, but I never had an expectation of timeline, so if they pop back up in a year so be it. Considering the last update, I haven't minded this lull in activity. However, it only take a minute to post a comment :/
Creator Mr. Shantyboat on May 7
A proud moment for you guys. Something to look back upon for the rest of your lives. Well done!
Creator Mike Buebe on April 15
They have started to release info on the web site hortodomi.com
Creator RG Mich on March 30
I assume the lack of updates and backer perks means that this project is dead.
Creator Cles on March 25
Any news?
Creator Mike Buebe on March 21
Any updates ?
Creator Mike Buebe on February 4
Can you give us an update
Creator Mr. Shantyboat on December 23
Sorry for my earlier crankiness. Nice update recently. Thank you.
Creator Mr. Shantyboat on December 21
The last update is October. Basic fraud. Charming service guys.
Creator RG Mich on December 11
Update please.
Creator Mr. Shantyboat on December 7
With no word in months I'll assume I'm out $15.... which in the scheme of things is not much. I guess.
Creator Tim Sharples on November 24, 2012
Any news would be welcome.
Creator Brad Flaherty on November 19, 2012
Hey Guys,
It's mid November, and you posted that hardware kits would go out in Sept. I have not seen mine. Could you update please?
Thanks!
Creator Tim Sharples on September 9, 2012
Come on its now September, please could we have some news, good or bad.
Creator Mark Hill on August 27, 2012

I already have an automated Arduino Greenhouse, so I am looking forward to trying this too!
Creator David Ryman on May 7, 2012
Congrats! Looking forward to building my first one and, hopefully, advancing the concept.
Creator Joseph Ransom on May 4, 2012
Very interested in the work being done out there. Automation of residential food production has been a loose idea rolling around in my head for about a year now. I hope I will eventually have something other than cash to help expand this project. Keep up the good work.
Creator Billy Neitz on May 2, 2012
Congratulations on your 100.09% funding!!
Creator Outer Babylon on April 24, 2012
@AJ The idea of course is that this automated system could be incorporated in any green house situation. While we are going to publish open source DIY instructions on the dome, I plan on creating a hoop house type prototype to show the systems versatility out of steel conduit. But ya the dome is a proof of concept for a system and there will be variations and adaptations as the community gets it's hands on the design.
Creator Outer Babylon on April 24, 2012
As far as pollinators, we have thought about several different oscillating fan ideas. One of the open source complementary concepts that we would like to incorporate into the Outer Babylon line is a open bee house.
Creator Julius on April 24, 2012
How do you get pollinators or is there a pollination system in place? (wind birds bees ect..)
Creator AJ Tarnas on April 22, 2012
Looks like you guys are doing fun stuff. But the dome envelope is pretty dumb. Domes were "debunked" long ago -- there are a dozen lines of reasoning for not using or associating yourself with domes. If you were using a greenhouse or hoop-house form-factor I'd feel more confident that you knew what you were doing / getting into. But as is, forge ahead, keep experimenting -- good luck!
Creator Fabien Lamarche-Filion on April 20, 2012
I think it is time to make a little promotion move.Only 1800$ to go, surely it can be done !
Creator Outer Babylon on April 18, 2012
We love you too!

Creator Joe Royall on April 10, 2012
no updates or responses to comments? What gives?
Creator Joe Royall on April 5, 2012
Good Luck!!! What type of materials and fasteners are you building the dome out of?
Creator Mete Cevik on March 26, 2012
Can you let 20 people give $125 = ($2500) for a full horto Domi Kit ? This can be done Geo based. (I am in Bay Area (San Jose). 20 people can share one kit and depending on how it works and appreciation. I would want to own one of my own. So 2 + Birds = See how it works, buzz and do demo and get all kick starter at same time. ( See if there are 20 people in my Area willing to put $125 to see how one full kit will work.)Details like who will host/operate etc can be arranged . So just create a pledge option for a shared Dome. ?
Creator James H Thompson on March 19, 2012
I would also suggest that you look seriously at using a capacitance soil moisture probe like the vegetronix. They have a lot of advantages over gypsum block probes. There are plans available for making your own capacitance soil moisture sensors if the vegetronix isn't a good fit for your needs.
Creator camcast on March 18, 2012
good luck guys :)
Creator Vegetronix, Inc. on March 16, 2012
If you guys send me your mailing address, I'll send you one of our company's low cost soil moisture sensors for free - you can see these at www.vegetronix.com. These might work better for you than the rusty nail gypsum block :)
Creator Reinoud on March 15, 2012
This is great. I really hope this kind of high-tech domestic sustainable food production future comes to fruition. However it seems like a lot of electronics for such a small footprint.. needs a bigger dome! :)
Creator Ny Lantrip on March 12, 2012
Good luck gentlemen!
