Update #5: INCITE #3: Finished and Ready to Ship!
Update #4: Success
Update #3: Three Days Left, New Project Trailer + Rewards Update
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thanks so much for your donations, and for spreading the word far and wide about INCITE #3. Here's a brief update:
The good news is, we've raised over 60% of our funding goal, which is amazing! The bad news is, we only have three days left to raise the rest. As you know, this is an all-or-nothing deal. If we raise the remaining $1900 by this Saturday morning, we'll
receive all of the pledged donations. If we fall short, we won't receive
any (every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time
expires or no money changes hands).
You can watch a video about INCITE #3, featuring excerpts from past and current contributors and sample page spreads, at the bottom of this message and on the Project page.
Rewards have been going fast, but we're pleased to offer a new incentive: The Yes Men Activity Set, which features a Yes Men Activity Book (with instructions on how to make your own Survivaball, fake press passes, and more), an Identity Correction poster, a DVD copy of The Yes Men Fix the World, and a deck of Regime Change (circa GWB) playing cards.

There are only three copies left of YOUR HEART IS A PRISM!, a stunning four-color, offset lithograph (22" x 16") printed with flourescent ultraviolet inks, created by filmmaker Peter Glantz and Lavender Diamond's Becky Stark in collaboration with Jacob Ciocci (formerly of Paper Rad). If you place the artwork under a blacklight it will blow your mind! Watch the accompanying animation:
With a donation of $200 or more, you will receive a full INCITE set, #1: "Manifest," #2: "Counter-Archive," and #3: "New Ages." as well as a lovely silk-screened portrait (10" x 13") of underground film legend George Kuchar. This limited edition print was specially made for our Kickstarter campaign by artist Leslie Supnet. You can view it online here: http://incite-online.net/Kuchar.jpg
Thanks again for your generous support! Please continue to spread the word in any way you can, via email, Facebook, Twitter, or old fashioned word-of-mouth. We only have until Saturday to raise $1,900. If we fall short, we won't receive any pledges and the issue won't be printed. You can use this quick link to the Kickstarter project: kck.st/incite3
With gratitude,

Update #2: There's a lot of things in life worth living for, isn't there?
Dear all,
A HUGE thank you to everyone who has pledged support towards INCITE #3 thus far -- we're so incredibly grateful! With your wind at our sails, we've made steady progress towards our goal, but we still have a lot of ground (sea?) to cover.
Now might be a good time to remind people that contributions of $200 or more will receive this charming, limited edition, silkscreened print of a youthful George Kuchar, made specially for our Kickstarter campaign by the artist Leslie Supnet. Kuchar, a legend of underground cinema who passed away recently at the age of 69, was perhaps best known for his enterprising DIY spirit, an aspect lovingly captured in Supnet's portrait, titled "There's a lot of things in life worth living for, isn't there?"
We hope you agree. Please help us spread the word and let everyone you can know about this campaign (kck.st/incite3).
Sincerely yours,
INCITE Journal of Experimental Media
Update #1: Your Heart Is A Prism!
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the INCITE #3 Kickstarter campaign so far. We greatly appreciate all of the generous support!
Here's a brief summary of where things stand right now: In the first 13 days, 37 people have backed us to the tune of $1500. In other words, we're 30% of the way towards our goal of $5000 -- still a ways to go. Please contribute if you haven't already, and help spread the word to those who might not know about it (you can use kck.st/incite3).
We have a nice list of great rewards for contributing, such as silkscreened prints, DVDs, LPs, and more. Here's a sample of one such reward, a sweet, four-color print by Peter Glantz, Becky Stark, and INCITE #3 cover artist Jacob Ciocci:

In the meantime, we have continued to publish new content online. For instance, you can now check out INCITE's natal horoscope, which will be appearing in the "New Ages" issue.
We also posted a new installment in our Back and Forth interview series: a conversation between the British documentary artist Stephen Connolly and Richard Birkett, curator of New York's Artists Space.
Please help to spread the word in any way you can, via Facebook, Twitter, email, or old fashioned word-of-mouth. Here is a quick link to the Kickstarter project: kck.st/incite3
Let's do this!
Sincerely,
INCITE Journal of Experimental Media

Founded in 2008, INCITE is dedicated to the discourse, culture, and community of experimental film, video, and new media. Merging print and online platforms, this hybrid journal addresses the lack of critical attention afforded film and media artists working today. In addition to scholarly articles, INCITE publishes aesthetic statements, manifestos, artist projects, multiples, archival documents, interviews, reviews, and hastily drawn plans, and has produced an artist multiple, a DVD compilation, an online interview series (Back and Forth), and numerous screenings, events, and launch parties. Stationed at the cross-flow of research, scholarship, and creation, we encourage personal writing, critical poetics, and radical approaches to film and media.
