Hello Kickstarter-makes-it-happen people!

I'm honoured to have been selected to present a musical showcase at the Jazz Education Network Conference January 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia. This is an immense opportunity to get involved and meet other top players in the field, be a part of furthering jazz education as well as share the messages I believe in.

 Since it's an educational conference with a high volume of participants (1000+!) they do not offer any compensation or reimbursement for artists.  I'm looking to raise a minimum of $2500 to get a quintet there to perform live.  This amount includes flights, hotel lodging, ground transportation/extra travel costs, and artist fees for the band members.

Our performance will be part of the "Inspirations" showcase, and I will be programming a concert that exemplifies the evolution of jazz improvising from its New Orleans roots, its advancement through the 20th century and then ways to take it to the next level by sharing my own creative process.  The group selected will include piano, bass, drums, and cajon/percussion. If we can raise over $3000 I'll be able to add a clarinet/saxophone player.  Needless to say, that would be amazing!  Even more would enable me to bring a trombonist. I appreciate any contribution and will share the details of how it's being spent.
