What Do I Need?

I need your help to get the word out to readers looking for books that take them on emotional journeys. And this will not be just a one-book journey, because in the next two years, I plan to self-publish four novels in both electronic and print formats.

Why Have I Chosen to Self-publish?

I've chosen to self-publish because of the artistic control it provides, and because it gives me a way to connect more directly with readers.

So What's the Problem?

Over one thousand books are published each day. That means that after an author has written a wonderful book, arranged for editing and cover art, and released it into the wild, the problem is attracting the attention of readers.

Many marvelous books will never be discovered. I don't want that to happen to my novels.

What Books Will I Publish First?

Absence of Grace, set in Wrangell, Alaska, is the story of a woman seeking a more hopeful future twenty years after an event that has woven a dark thread through her life.

Counterpointe, set in Boston and the Amazon, is the story of a dancer forced by fate into a journey of self-discovery.

What Can You Do to Help?

There are many costs involved in self-publishing, most of which I will pay. This includes such things as professional editing, formatting, and internet advertising.  With your help, I want to also place an ad in a major airline's in-flight magazine.  Such an ad has the potential to be seen by thousands of passengers while they are temporarily trapped below 10,000 feet.

Further, by backing the project, you will have the opportunity to be an early reader and, hopefully, a cheerleader for Absence of Grace,  thus helping to spread positive word-of-mouth.

How Do I Know I Can Do This?

I've honed my skill as a writer and story-teller, with two books published with a traditional publisher, and I've spent the time and effort to become proficient in the computer skills needed to publish both electronically and in print.

Absence of Grace and Counterpointe are completed and are being edited.

I write stories that celebrate the resilience of the human spirit, and I know they tug at readers' heartstrings, because readers have told me so:
