I've been working hard writing and arranging the best songs possible for my new album. It's time to release them and I need your help!
In the two years since the release of my debut album, A Southern Horror, I have been hard at work writing and arranging new material. I now have a pool of about twenty songs. My plan is to get some great musicians together, get in the studio with my favorite sound engineers, and record twelve of these songs for my new project.
Unfortunately, it is still not cheap to professionally record and release a record. Let's face it, the days of “the big record deal” are over for guys like me.
The few artists I know who have somehow "made it" with a label have either (1) broken their contract, (2) unwillingly waited out their contract, or (3) decided not to renew their contract once the term is up. Even if they do manage to escape, they usually leave without ownership of their songs.
Fuck that.
I have the songs. You want to hear them. That's all we need, and were gonna do it with KICKSTARTER.
You give and you get. SIMPLE.
Kickstarter will only allow me to use the money you donate if the entire pledge goal is reached. With that in mind, I've conservatively set the goal at $12,500. That's not because I want to cut corners or release a low-budget album, but because I want to make sure this project actually comes to life. As a fan you deserve it, and ultimately, the songs deserve it.
The stage is set, the songs are written, the time is booked, and the players are rehearsed. Now I am counting on you for the money because that's the one thing I don't have.

No. If the goal is not met, no one is charged a cent.

Just a middle man. A platform that allows me to give you options for pledging and allows me to organize all the information during the process. Kickstarter does not charge you and fees. They do NOT share any of your information. What you pledge is what you pledge and it goes straight to the album. If the pledge goal is not met (kickstarter assumes that the project cannot be completed due to insufficient fund) kickstarter does not charge those who pledged the amount they pledged. No, $12,500 is the minimum amount needed to actually get the funds needed to record the album. Best case scenario, we will hit the minimum mark and exceed it! The more pledges we get the better. More money = more time and a better team, better packaging, and better distribution.
