About this project

Antilog.org was started a few years ago to capture the live performances and studio creations of avant garde musicians, to document the music, sounds, ideas and aesthetics of the people involved, for people to enjoy now, and for future musicologists to analyze - whether it's avant garde, free improv, free jazz, tone poetry, sonic arts, noise, fringe, punk - it is recorded.

So I talk to people, record, network, record, play, test gear, record, try new techniques, help people, record, inform, post recordings to the blog http://www.antilog.org and record some more. I tend towards using simple yet sound methods, highly cost-effective gear, and positive energy.

Antilog.org supports musicians by offering and hosting recordings, and by networking in the form of blog posts, email lists, and word of mouth. This in turn supports the general arts culture in the area, and for those artists passing through, extends support world wide. Artists from Japan, US, EU, Scandinavia and beyond have performed in Baltimore and have been recorded by Antilog.org.

The KickStarter funds will be used to buy much needed equipment including microphones and preamps for the recording process, a decent lens for indoor photography, a modest camcorder to start capturing video of performances and web developing to help flesh out the Antilog.org website, which is in need of a redesign to make it more accessible by listeners and artists.
