Kickstarter is a TIME-SENSITIVE project fundraising site for creative projects. eSquared Comics is on kickstarter to raise $13,000 in order to produce a pilot cartoon series. The beauty of Kickstarter is that only the best projects are funded. The crowd determines which projects deserve to see the light of day.

My name is Eddrick, co-creator of eSquared Comics and thanks for checking out my Kickstarter campaign.  We want to transform our comic book superhero series Downpour into a cartoon series.

The success of this project will allow us to bring Downpour to life in a way that both kids and adults could enjoy.

For those of us that love cartoons with a story-line, lovable characters and multi-layered villains, Downpour: The Animated Series will be a breath of fresh air and the cure to those who suffer from 90's era cartoon nostalgia-syndrome. Don't get me wrong, we are not going back in time. We are just giving this generation a new hero to root for, coupled with new villains to despise. 

Cartoons are expensive to make, so we are asking for your support.  If that is just passing on the link, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Our goal is to raise $13,000 in order to create a 2 to 4 minute pilot that we could shop around to network executives at animation conferences in hopes that they would pick it up for development.

               Introducing Downpour:

     The Fearful Becomes The Powerful

15-year-old Timothy Dillion fled from his bullies one rainy afternoon. He found an abandon power plant and decided to hide inside. He saw a strange rock on the ground and picked it up to use as protection against the bullies. While hiding, lighting struck near him and traveled throughout the area and his body. The strange orb melted into his hands and rendered him unconscious for several hours. Several months later he noticed that he sweated too much and when he got excited, small balls of hail and water would eject from his hands. The fearful Timothy Dillion became the powerful Downpour.

The Weak is Trained

Since the age of six he was taught Ninjitsu by his uncle, who feared his nephew was too weak. Tough love was his prescription.

Downpour's suit was designed by his uncle.  He can also shoot anchors into the ground and use them as an anchor to catapult himself long distances. His boots and wrist band serve as stabilizers to smooth his catapults and descents. His suit is also bullet-proof and fire proof.

         Enter Volcanic, Downpour's First Villain:

The alien warrior Volcanic crashed landed on Earth. Volcanics race is a living organism that can leave its body and fuse itself into another host thru symbiosis. Every 50 Earth years, a warrior from his dry and desolate home planet Kylack is chosen to venture into the universe to steal a planets water source. Volcanic was leaving a successful mission when his star ship was unexpectedly disabled. He crash landed on Earth and chose Sandoff to keep his presence and alien tech a secret until he could find means to repair his ship. His plans were dashed when Timothy Dillion absorbed the orb containing another planets water source.
