Kickstarter

the story

I am proposing to start what I hope to be an ongoing relationship with kickstarter and the public domain to resolve pet peeves in everyday items. I am a product design engineer by trade, and nothing perks my ears up more than hearing somebody complain about the way a product performs. The most recent incident happened while sitting down to dinner with a group of friends. The salt shaker made it through 2 people and it was out of salt. I ran to the pantry and grabbed the big canister, armed with a spoon and impeccable aim, yet I still managed to spill at least a tablespoon on the table. The group of us started discussing several every day items that fail at life, and then this idea burst into my head .

So the first Pet Peeve that I intend to solve with the help of Kickstarter is the salt and pepper shaker refill dilemma. In the future, with the comments and constructive criticism available at the fingertips of every social network, I want to raise awareness of everyday irks, get people to weigh in, and solve other product pet peeves once and for all.

the plan

As for the Salt and Pepper shakers, I have designed and prototyped them, and have all of the 3d files ready to go for production. The top portion will be made of ceramic and the inner folding part will be made of silicone. Small neo magnets will give a secure registration to insure no spillage. Now, all I need is money to pay for manufacturing costs. That is where you guys come in. Backing this project with 30 dollars or more gets you your very own set of Good & Tidy Salt and Pepper Shakers, and peace of mind (I know this problem was stressing you out).
