Hello and Welcome to our Kickstarter page! Glad you are here and going to take a look at our work in progress, and possibly help us fund our film in the new year. We have been conducting interviews in Topeka, Lawrence, Kansas City, St. Louis, Detroit, Minneapolis, Washington D.C. , and Philadelphia so far. We will travel to interview the bands that played the Outhouse, and anyone who was involved in the place. We also welcome any people in the cities we announce that we will be in, to get ahold of us if they just went to the Outhouse, and they want to be a part of this film. Some of our best moments about the Outthouse have come from the regulars who grew up going there. What will the funds we raise be used for?

Any money we raise will go towards all aspects of the production in 2011, including costs associated with sound equipment, lights, and travel costs related to the film.  In the future we would like to not only use music from our local scene (Black Label and Second Chance is the music in our production trailer, two bands that recorded their music during the same time period they were playing the Outhouse.), but some of the music from some national acts that played at the Outhouse, to license some of these songs it gets very expensive, we set our limit at a humble $8,500 but hope to generate enough interest to truly make a great film with national appeal.  

The Outhouse The Film

I am extremely passionate about this project, so much so that I feel as though any money spent on this film is money well spent. Against some other peoples judgement. I know that there has to be others out there like myself who really want this film to be all it can be. This is one of the reasons we are doing this Kickstarter. Raising money was not a priority for this project until we ran out of it.  So hopefully you will be as excited about this film as I am, and love to get some of the rewards we are offering for your help funding this film. 

The Outhouse the Film was started last summer and has been in production now for 6 months, we are looking to still be filming all the way until the end of this  next summer. The film will tell the story of the Outhouse through narration, interviews, live footage, flyers and photos. It remained a venue for underground music until its end. The Outhouse never became mainstream entertainment for the masses. It was a meeting place for the truly disenfranchised youth of Kansas. A lot of films tell the tale of punk rock and completely leave out or skim over the midwest, If you lived anywhere in the midwest and were a fan of punk and underground music, you knew about the Outhouse.
