Update #2: This Update Is Way More Informative, Non-Gender-Specific-Colloquial-Addresses/Ninjas/Dinosaurs/Robots
Progress! Things, we have done them:
* We've removed carpet!
* We've built out the sinks!
* We have a full-size fridge!
* We have a stove! But we can't install it because the electrical in our building can't handle it and it'd be way too expensive to foot the bill for the upgrade ourselves.
There are photos of the build days we've had on our Flickr account (click!). If you're interested in stopping by to help, or just to watch along, be sure to check @JigsawSeattle for updates and links to a live feed of us DOING THINGS.
Things that are on our "get it done" list:
* Obtain a gas stove for the cooking of delicious foods.
* Find an electrician to give us MORE POWER.
* Find a contractor to help us hook up the gas to the stove we found in step one.
* Find a plumber to, you know, plumb things (sinks!).
* Find a contractor to help us with roof work so's we can vent fumes out the top of the building.
We'll be sending out emails to everyone shortly getting addresses where required and permission to put all of your wonderful names on the "Thank You!" page we're adding to our website.
Update #1: Disturbingly Late Update!
Hello party people!
This is a stopgap update to let y'all know we're still alive. Soon we will have kitchen plans, build pictures, and more on our wiki! We apologize for the very long delay, but there was some issue with getting Amazon to give us the money you all have been so kind to donate (they didn't believe we were a nonprofit). Now that has been sorted and we're well on our way to cooking with SCIENCE!
The kitchen has its own corner in the main space next to the common area. Currently we've installed two sinks and are obtaining materials to build a chopping island. We've left the countertops around the sinks full of the markings we made installing them, and plan to fill the countertop with epoxy to the edges of the sinks (pictures once it's done will help that make sense).
We are also hard at work on your rewards! Some won't be available until we're actually done with the kitchen (meals!), but others will be in the mail shortly!

How goes things like electrical and plumbing? Find a stove ok? Need any specific building materials or trades people? What's the schedule looking like for having all of those appliances online? It seems like there is still quite a bit of work left. If there are work nights sometime send out a call for help.. if I'm in town & free, I'll show up.

We will cook you a meal in our new kitchen! This only applies if you live in Seattle or plan to visit at some point in the future. Our Mission? To create and connect fiercely collaborative makerspaces.
So, here’s the idea: Ideas. Unfiltered, unencumbered, and unapologetically enthusiastic ideas. Ideas that lead to grease-smeared hands, lavender sorbet, things that go bang, clouds of steam, those goggle-marks you see on crazy chemistry geeks, and some guy (or girl) in the background juggling and swinging from a trapeze.
We are a collective of intellectual eccentrics, passionate about learning and our various (and yes, I mean various) arts. Walk through our door with an open mind, and you are liable to be whisked off your feet and into a project you’d never have thought up. We encourage communal learning, asking questions, and pushing that red button. Go on. Do it. If you stick around long enough, you’ll end up being the one creating projects. Which is exactly what we hope will happen.
We want you to want us in your neighborhoods. We want you to send your children to us after school to learn how to have fun self-teaching under our watchful eyes. We want to be a valuable, brag-worthy part of the community, that puts on performances and holds an open door to all interested in becoming capable of creation.
