THE OBJECTIVE? Give college kids the opportunity and encouragement to make it to class and Save the Environment at the same time!

HOW? Solve the impossibly uneconomical parking situation at the University of Central Florida with a Smartphone App!

FACTS:
The University of Central Florida (UCF) has over 54,000 students enrolled; but yet, there are only 14,879 parking spaces total on the UCF campus. The numbers just don’t add up! It takes up to 72 minutes to find parking on campus (that is, if you dont give up and go home after 30 minutes…). During those 72 minutes, we lose valuable class time, waste expensive gasoline (which most students struggle to afford), increase stress levels, and cause a countless amount of excess air pollution. This is where the 1,000,000 gallons of fuel comes in. At UCF alone, this is the amount of fuel we will save in only one year. Trust us, we are engineers; we do integrals well. Now, if you multiply that by the number of college campuses in the nation-that's roughly 2.3 bajillion.

A group of engineering students have found a solution to solve this appalling waste. We have developed a system that will mitigate this problem. This system will be realized into a smartphone application. However, the cost to develop such an application exceeds the limits of our shallow college-students pockets. We have already fulfilled all the necessary pre-fabrication requirements including: design, functionality diagrams, walk-through process, appearance, and research. Now, all we need is the funds to get the system up and running.
