About this project
We are creating an interactive, multi-disciplinary performance piece via a democratic, collaborative process. Insurgo Stage Project uses an exploratory creative process involving improvisation, discussion, and writing prompts to create characters, narrative, plot, and structure.
The end product will be a feature-length performance, shared over three evenings at a studio in the heart of the budding arts community in Jersey City, NJ.
Throughout the production process, we will keep the blog current with updates and discoveries from rehearsals. Video artists will be documenting and creating featurettes, which will be posted on the blog as well. We welcome our audience to use these resources to not only observe, but participate in the creative process in progress.

We are Chelo Mercado, Avianna Perez, and Justin Woo and we've teamed up to help create and produce a new multidisciplinary show as part of the Art in Motion Performance Series in Jersey City, NJ. Avianna and Justin have been creating dance / poetry / theatre performances since 2004. Chelo is an accomplished drummer and runs the Grassroots Community Space and Downtown Live in Jersey City.
