Update #9: New York Comic Con
Hey Everyone,
On Friday October 14 at 11 am Kurt Vincent will be a guest on a panel at New York Comic Con to discuss the movie and the role of arcades in today's culture. Kurt will be joined by Seth Killian (of Capcom and the guy that the Street Fighter boss Seth is named after), Henry Cen (founder of Next Level arcade in Brooklyn), Jamin B. Warren (founder of Kill Screen Magazine), and Norman Burgess (NYC arcade aficionado).
A version of the trailer that is in progress will be shown after the panel.
We hope to see you there!
An update on the progress of the movie will be coming soon!

Update #8: Update on ARCADE documentary
Hi Everyone,
The Chinatown Fair t-shirts were shipped a few days ago. We hope you like them!
We are working hard on the movie and making great progress. We have been researching and shooting new material (with help from our talented intern Reed Caratzas). The movie is beginning to take shape, but we could still use your help.
If you or anyone you spent time at Chinatown Fair we would love to hear from you. We are looking for any personal insights to the arcade as well as old pictures and video/film footage. If you know of any online resources (forums, archives, blogs) that are about arcades or video games please let us know. We are learning as much as we can about the history of video games, arcades, and of course CF.
I am attaching a paragraph below that you can copy and paste in an email to any people that you think might have some info that could help!
Hi,
We are working on a documentary that explores the meaning of video games, gaming, and arcades by focusing on the iconic NYC arcade, Chinatown Fair. The arcade first opened in 1944 and closed in February 2011. It was home to a vibrant community of gamers that cherished their time at the arcade. We are currently searching for archival materials related to the arcade -- photographs, film, video, personal stories. If you or anyone you know has any connection to the arcade we would greatly appreciate your help. We are also doing research related to arcades and video games so if you know of any books, websites, forums, etc. that could aid in our research please let us know. Thanks for your help! You can reach us at arcademovie@gmail.com and www.facebook.com/arcademovie

I got the shirt in the mail today. The design is great. However, while I didn't pledge just to get the shirt, I have to say: 25% cotton? really? I still support the cause and understand that you needed to keep the costs down, but yeesh. Maybe I can find a use for it that doesn't involve placing it against my skin.

Kurt, the shirt is great, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie when it is done.

Update #7: Update on Incentives
Hi Everyone,
I have been receiving a lot of questions about when the shirts will be sent out. We just got access to the funding (it takes 2 weeks for the Kickstarter funds to be transferred by Amazon to your bank, so we only got the money yesterday) and we are ordering the shirts this week since we can now pay for them. If you have not sent me your shirt size please do so now. If I don't hear back you will receive a Medium by default. The shirts will be in the mail in about two weeks. Your patience is appreciated!
The other goodies are in production as we speak. I am hoping to have everything sent out soon. It is a lot of work! We are making a movie and putting together a zine, shirts, a mixtape, baking cookies, and constructing an arcade cabinet! But it is very fun. Working hard on something you love is always good.
The movie production is going well. We are having a lot of fun filming and are very excited with the progress.
Talk to you all soon!
-Kurt
Update #6: It is just now sinking in that we did it!
Looking back to the first day we launched the Kickstarter I remember that I was optimistic. I thought we had a good chance of hitting our goal, but it would probably come down to the last day. I had no idea the level of support we would receive. Thank you all for getting behind this project and giving us the financial support (and confidence) to complete the movie!
598 Backers!!! 146% Funded. Incredible! We are honored. And very excited to finish the movie so we can share it with you.
Tomorrow you will be receiving a survey from us concerning the incentives. You will be asked you provide your address for shipping, and what size shirt you would like.
Talk to you all soon!!! And THANK YOU.
-Kurt
p.s. You will also be hearing from us about the Kickstarter backers party at the new arcade in Brooklyn!
