Sarah Diemer's groundbreaking debut novel, The Dark Wife, is a feminist lesbian retelling of the myth of Persephone and Hades for young adults.
I'm Hugh O'Donnell, the editor, producer and host of The Way of the Buffalo podcast. I'm teaming up with Sarah to help ensure that her labor of love reaches all of those meant to find it. We already created an audio podcast sample of the first two chapters, produced by Hugh and narrated by Parsec Award-finalist Veronica Giguere of The Secret World Chronicle and The Ballad of Iron Percy. Now, we'd like to make a full, professional quality audiobook of The Dark Wife, available for free online. Veronica has graciously agreed to read for the rest of the book, but we need a thousand dollars to cover our production costs. For this cost, not only will we get more chapters of Veronica's incredible narration, but also licensed music and sound effects.
