Hungry? Poor? Busy? Foodie? If you're in Washington DC and answered yes to any of those questions, then PORC: Purveyors of Rolling Cuisine has got just the thing for you. We're a new street food company that aims to change how people view mobile cuisine. We will reinvent and elevate the street eatery by providing affordable, eco-friendly and tasty meals on the go, day and night.

So what are we going to serve? Here are some of the initial offerings:
-Barbecue: Hickory and oak smoked meats cooked for up to 16 hours. Think pulled pork, tender brisket, succulent ribs and out of this world chicken.
-Gourmet Sausages: Simply Sausage out of Landover, MD, the best sausage makers in the USA, and PORC have teamed up to bring you an amazing product prepared and served like nowhere else.
-Serious Vegetarian and Vegan Food: Don't worry, we haven't forgotten you! The veggie menu will be very seasonal, but we'll always have an awesome house-made vegetable burger (seriously, awesome) on hand.
-In the future: We're starting out with a couple of our favorites, but we plan on pushing the limits of what can be done with a truck. Imagine getting fish en papillote and tamales one week, then yakisoba and gumbo the next. We love to research a cuisine, master the cooking and then feed you the results.

How much is the food going to cost? Our goal is to keep prices around $7 for a meal. That means for $7 you could get a big ol' pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, homemade chips, and a coke.

We've designed an awesome lunch truck, utilizing some of the newest cooking equipment and at the same time taking into consideration our company's effect on the environment. Everything from our truck to our equipment will be run using bio-diesel. Furthermore, we are going to use the freshest and most local ingredients we can find, creating a seasonal menu. Though we'll have some menu mainstays (really, who can do without BBQ and sausages?), the seasons will decide the kinds of things we cook.

We're largely funding PORC ourselves, but with your help we can make this company a reality. This is what your support will help us do:
-Buy a used postal style truck
-Outfit the vehicle with top of the line kitchen equipment
-Convert the vehicle to biodiesel and buy biodegradable and compostable supplies
-License the operation
-And most importantly, bring some much needed quality food to the streets of DC!

****If you don't live in DC and aren't going to be coming anytime soon we'll double the amount of your complimentary meals and donate them to the homeless and needy of the city (for the $250 packages we'll donate 40 meals and the $3500 package 600 meals). The meals will be donated through Thrive DC , an organization that provides the last safety net for people facing economic crisis and housing instability, and the first step towards independence for people experiencing extended periods of homelessness.
