Our goal:

We want to revolutionize the fashion industry. We believe fun, modern, elegant apparel and accessories can be made out of pre-loved materials.  Our dream is to show the world that high fashion can be eco-friendly!

When we daydream, we picture running the next Anthropologie, or Modcloth.... only this time, by selling apparel and accessories made from upcycling pre-loved fabrics from around the world.

But to turn this dream into a reality, we have to start somewhere. So for now, we run a small shop out of Bijal's apartment. We collect vintage sarees and tranform them into modern dresses, ties, clutches, and scarf vests.  We sell the finished products on our website at www.lallitara.com.  We have also gathered a following on facebook at www.facebook.com/lallitara (please like us if you haven't already!)

Our progress:

To date, we've made sample pieces, sold a couple of ties and dresses, collected hundreds of vintage sarees and have sketched out plenty of great design ideas. We've received tons of positive feedback on our initial designs, and a lot of compliments and inquiries. 

But we need your help. In order to turn those vintage sarees into functional (AWESOME) designs, we need supplies (buttons, lining, thread, cutting scissors, fusible, interfacing, felt, etc... etc) and to pay our contract manufacturer (in SF) to produce high quality pieces. We hope to go into full production in August, so time is running short to make this dream a REALITY!

For those of you who want Lallitara goods in return for your support, samples are below.  Remember, the real deal will vary as each piece is one-of-a-kind. Once we reach our goal, and produce the items, we will send a link for you to choose the item that you want. For example, if you pre-order a tie, we will send you a link with a bunch of different ties to choose from, and you can pick the one that best suits you.  Don't worry, our ties, clutches and scarf vests will all come in tons of different colors and patterns!

Also the order in which you get to choose an item, will be determined by your pledge order. So act fast!
