Kickstarter

First, thank you to everyone who has backed the Recoil project so far. You have all made this project more successful than I ever imagined, and your support has inspired us to work night and day to earn the confidence that you have shown in our team and the product.

A couple of important points:

1-To all of our international backers, please review your orders and make sure that you have included international shipping in your pledges. If any of you need to make an adjustment, you can do that by going to Manage My Pledge and adding the shipping there.

2- Packaging: The team here at Recoil hates big wasteful packaging, especially the plastic blister packs that most retailers require in order to hang product in their stores. Blister packs are hard to open, and they require tons of plastic that gets cut up and thrown in the trash as soon as you get the product. To make things worse, blister packs require larger shipping boxes in order to ship them to you, adding several more tons of cardboard boxes to the waste. Since the Winders that are shipping to Kickstarter backers do not have to meet the requirements of retail displays, we have  decided to eliminate about 70% of the waste and pack all Kickstarter orders in poly bags, which eliminates the need for tons of plastic, and also allows us to ship in more efficient padded envelopes rather that wasteful cardboard boxes. We feel really good about this decision, and will continue to design our product, packaging and shipping materials to have the smallest possible impact on the environment.

3- Our production tooling is now complete, and I will be at the factory for the first 10 days of March overseeing production and assembly. I will be posting updates while I am there to keep you all informed of the progress, and to give you a first-hand look at what it takes to bring this product to life. You will meet the people who actually make and assemble the product, and will get to see the tools and machinery in action. It should be really cool.

4- With only 2 days left in the Kickstarter campaign, this is the last chance for you and your friends to get Recoil Winders at the low Kickstarter price. After Kickstarter ends, we will be taking orders on our website, recoilwinders.com,  but the prices will be higher, so if you want to add any winders to your order, do it now!
