Kickstarter

Since June we’ve been working hard on completing our first record, scrounging for time between our jobs and everything else.  Through the labors of producing, engineering, and mixing, we’ve learned quite a bit, but the whole process has taken far longer than expected (despite taking into account Hofstadter’s law).  Now, six months after laying down the first tracks, we’ve finally finished our end of the work and now need to hire others to turn it into a tangible object.

As we watch music disappear from the physical realm and reemerge in the digital, we’ve chosen to put our music on a still palpable format that is having a resurgence despite it all.  The five of us enjoy the ritual of vinyl, the physical interaction with the object holding the music in its grooves, the thought of it as an artifact for posterity.  But, for those who have less of a Luddite leaning, we are also making it available for download.

At its core, we are viewing this Kickstarter as a means by which to soften the initial financial blow of mastering and manufacturing.  For those already interested in hearing what we’ve been working on, this will be in essence a pre-order, an avenue by which to pay up front, making it fiscally possible.  For those of you who want to help support us further, we’ve included a number of rewards to act as meager expressions of gratitude for your generosity.
