Proof is the first production of Blank Stage Theater, a collective of theater artists collaborating on individual projects and ensemble productions.  Our goal is to create work that is engaging, truthful and imaginative.

While we spent a lot of time reading plays and talking about what kind of work we wanted to create, Proof kept coming up in those conversations--we couldn't ignore the lingering power of this story. It sticks with you and won't let you forget it.

What we love about this play is:

It’s truthful.
Smart.
Affecting.
Challenging.
Beautiful.

It has amazing, complex characters, but a clean, simple presentation and it makes us think about something that we’ve never thought a lot about—namely math—in a whole new way, which is what we think good theater should do.

Your support will create the world of the play, pay for a space to rehearse and perform in, pay the artists involved a tiny bit of what they are worth, and most importantly, keep ticket costs accessible to the wide range of audiences who deserve to see this play.

We are offering rewards that keep the themes of the play in mind: a math geek date package with the goal of bringing math geeks and theater geeks together in a love connection. Performances are in Seattle and we will work with any out of town supporters to donate their ticket/s to a worthy cause.

We believe that small, independent theater can affect audiences in a powerful, visceral way and we ask for your help to give this production a life.

Performance Info:

Proof runs November 17th to December 3rd, 2011. Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights at 8pm (except Thanksgiving). 

TPS Theatre4 Space on the 4th floor of the Center House in the Seattle Center.
