About this project
I have been drawing and painting for most of my life, and doing it professionally since 2005. Now I am interested in moving into publishing, and I want it to be a collaborative effort with my backers. My first publishing project will be a big art coloring book. It will have at least 75 pictures to color, and each picture will be designed by one of you!
Here's how it works: Each backer at every level of 15$ or higher will receive a survey at the end of the campaign. You will get to name your animal and select all kinds of attributes for your animal. Number and type of eyes, number of arms and legs, hair, hats, number and type of mouths and teeth. You will also be able to fill in information about your animal's personality which will be used in it's creation.
I have spent a lot of time researching art coloring books on Amazon, and reading reviews for them in order to find out what people want in an art coloring book. The finished book will be perfect bound with high quality paper and will be 8.5" by 11". The images will only be on one side of the page, so you can use markers if you wish without worrying about bleeding through, or remove pages for framing if you like. The pictures in the finished book will have lots of detail for coloring.
What the funding is for: In order to complete this project I will need funding to cover printing and shipping costs, paper, pens, canvases, and a 11 X 17" scanner. The project only goes forward in funding is completed by the deadline.
Rewards will include signed copies of the book, signed original drawings used for the book, full color acrylic paintings of your animal, and more depending on the level you choose. I want each animal to be designed by a backer if possible, so I will offer a reward tier for just the book only after every most or all of the design tiers are already taken.

Yes. For the sake of continuity I am limiting the name of your animal to one name. It can be a first name (like Susan or Reynold), a last name (like Jackson or Smith) or a nickname (like Fuzzy or Lumpy). Compound names like Jim Bob or names with an apostrophe like D'Andre are fine as well. Just no first and last name combos, letter and number combos, symbols, etc. If you are not sure you can always message me before pledging. If two people choose the same name, the one who responded first gets to use it, and the second person will be asked to change their name. Hopefully this won't be an issue though. In addition, since this coloring book is meant to be for all ages, please don't choose any names that include profanity or anything else non-family-friendly. Thanks!

Pretty much just the shape of the body. This is partly because the number of possible body shapes are potentially infinite and impossible to describe verbally. And partly because in order to fit all the other attributes you desire and still have it look good I will require some artistic license. What I will likely do is have a choice of general body types, such as: lean, average, and chunky.

I was born in Anchorage, Alaska and studied art at the University of Fairbanks, Alaska. I have been painting since 2005. I have worked with Artists in Cellophane to make miniature paintings to be sold in Art O Mat vending machines across the country. I have also had some of my miniature paintings featured in The Itty Bitty Art Book and Kit, published by Scholastic.
