Recording project to help find homes for kids in foster care, enlisting more foster & adoptive families across the USA.
Funds needed to finish "Heart of Adoption" CD, which I, Becky Wright, have been working on in Nashville since 2008. Currently only have 3 songs professionally recorded, need to finish 7 more. This album and the concert & speaking tour are helping to find "forever families" for kids in US foster care (particularly) through my volunteer work w/several state and private agencies (most of my work is pro bono). This includes the OK Dept. of Human Services Adoption Division, the new Oklahoma foster family recruitment initiative www.111project.org, Orphan Sunday events nationwide- 1st weekend in Nov.- Natl. Adoption Month, Arkansas Adoption Coalition (they used my song on a PSA on Fox Network- pro bono), and many other agencies. These songs are changing lives, giving kids a future and a FAMILY. The "Heart of Adoption" CD has already released 2 songs to radio (playing already on over 600 stations that we're aware of), and 3 of the songs are being utilized across the country, in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and predominantly in the USA as a voice for foster children, and orphans in general. We've received many testimonials from adoption agencies, Heart Galleries (displaying photos of foster kids waiting to be adopted), adoptive & foster families, social workers and others about how the music has inspired them and helped them "tell the story" of these kids, and help light a fire of motivation for folks to get involved-- and change a life of a child or sibling group through "the gift of HOME".
Funds will be utilized for [1] Recording / engineering costs (2 studios in Nashville), [2] travel expenses for artist/songwriter, Becky Wright (who travels from Oklahoma), and [3] Distribution & promotion (including radio promotion/release) of songs.
