This cookie book is a labor of love and hope begun after my friend Sherry's son was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Please read Sherry's story on her blog( http://prayersforlogan.blogspot.com.) The money raised will help to print 500 copies of the book. The book will be sold all over Bainbridge Island and online.

An unstoppable baker, I decided to channel my desire to make a difference and sent cookies to Sherry's family every week for a year in an effort to bring cheer to her house. Although I could not save her son, Logan, I hope this book, humorously written and fully illustrated with fabric illustrations made by me, will be a tribute to his memory. The proceeds will go to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in the hopes that fewer children and families will have to suffer through the pain of cancer the way Sherry's family did.

The book will make an excellent holiday or hostess gift. The recipes range from easy to fancy, and will tempt every taste bud. They draw heavily on my Northwest experience and included many local and healthy ingredients while still remaining very tasty. They include such favorites as Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt Cookies and Banana Split Cookies. I hope you will make these cookies to send to a friend and brighten someone's day.
