"Wily, lyrical, evocative and bright " - Josef Woodard (Santa Barbara Independent)
Hailing from the fertile scene of Portland, Oregon, the Blue Cranes create music that is as invigorating as it is disarming. Working a thin line between improvisation and catchiness, Blue Cranes arrive at a unique place. They have found a way to make exploration seem like the most enjoyable process around. The group, composed of Reed Wallsmith (alto saxophone), Sly Pig (tenor saxophone), Rebecca Sanborn (keyboards), Keith Brush (acoustic bass), and Ji Tanzer (drums), began working together as a quintet in 2007 (originally recording as a quartet in 2006). Since then, the band has begun to reap the rewards of collective articulation: an individual sound that depends on the contributions of each member.
Hello, I had replied to the question regarding delivery of the cd to me and have changed my mind and was wondering if was possible to receive it in the mail. Please email me cbooroo@yahoo.com for my address information. Thanks!
Oops! Not "no go" - NOW go out and get em!
Whoo-hoo!!! Glad to help out. No go out and get em! Cheers... Brian
In a city lousy with supremely talented musicians, Blue Cranes is way up at the top of the heap. I am proud to support whatever they want to do!
Congratulations!
Travel efficiently, play the club car, and liberally sprinkle melody and chaos everywhere you go.
You people are awesome. And your album has a lot of joy for the world. i hope you make it, and I hope someday you come visit my Trailer in the orchard in CA and record the sheeps. My heart is always asking.
Well, hell, I'm here now, I'm ready to meet up with your representative!
We're getting SO CLOSE!
Bernard -- It sounds like right off the bat that there might be a couple of things that you and your money don't fathom. I'm a little surprised that you would call, and be surprised that we didn't know who you were, and that over the phone we would tell you that, "Sure-- we'll send you however many boats you want for however many days you want."
Let me fill you in on something right off the tip of my tongue here, and that's that I'm Bernard Fuddle, and I've been on the water for 47 years.
I've been on schooners;
I've been on an 80 foot yacht, many times.
Now I live in LaHanna, and I need a couple boats up, I've got hundreds of millions of dollars. But what you don't seem to fathom is: I need to get out on the water ALONE for 2 to 3 days, make a decision. How does THAT sound, right off the bat?
You guys are the best. Thank you all so much. It is amazing to have the support of so many friends.
The Youngs are happy to support you in your venture!
Have a Great show tonight! Sorry I can't make it, although I thought I would show my support with a pledge. I wish you guys all the best ... You rock!
best of luck with this, i enjoy your music a lot and hope you can get out here to play in boston.
i'd be remiss if i didn't use this chance to badger you guys to press your new album on vinyl. i just don't love spending money on non-physical product. i'd definitely be willing to pledge more!
I'm in Canada, and I have a group of friends who toured by Viarail train a while back. They were able to talk to the train company and get free travel in exchange for playing a couple of times on the train. Not sure if Amtrak would do the same thing, but it is probably worth a shot.
I think it is great that you're doing this--it's no secret that our society seems to have made the decision not to support artists and musicians. I think individuals need to support creative talent when it is so blaringly apparent. I also know that your group is very frugal. Blue Cranes should be applauded for pushing forward despite the financial hurdles. Good Luck! I hope you reach your goal.
GOOD LUCK!!! I hope this pans out and the East Coast can revel in your revelry! Jay
