'Will Play for Food' is bringing this fast paced, funny, heart breaking play to the Hollywood Fringe Festival...but we need help!
The Nina Variations by Steven Dietz is a fast-paced, funny, heartbreaking new take on Chekhov's classic out-of-love story. It takes Nina (a young actress) and Treplev(a young writer) from The Seagull (synopsis), locks them in a room, and doesn't let them out. Through 44 variations on their infamous final scene, Dietz pits their unmatched wit and passion against each other in what can only be described as a masterpiece.
Our production adds a new twist by splitting the roles of Nina and Treplev into three parts each. This division of the characters serves to further highlight the idea that Dietz's play is not just about two people trying to find peace with each other, but about all of us, and our seemingly unending desire to find love.
The money being raised through this campaign will go towards renting the venue, paying a technician at that venue, purchasing ad space (print and online), as well as printing fliers and programs.
