We are starting a t-shirt company.

THE SHIRTS:

Our first run of shirts will be five unique designs, MADE AND PRINTED IN AMERICA. We've taken the traditional t-shirt and added some high concept designs to them: minimal, 2D silhouettes in unique textures and color combinations, all subtle symbols and icons that remind us of New York City. Slightly conceptual, highly stylized, and a little bit graceful.

• Our t shirts will be sold primarily online at our website www.neednewyork.com which you can preview now (we are still working on it, though!)
• If you are to receive a reward for your pledge, we will collect all of that information from you through Kickstarter after we have been successfully funded.

The Story:

The company is called NEED New York. Now, we know what you are thinking! We aren’t from New York, we don’t even live in New York, and one of us has only been to New York once. However, as young people with big dreams and lots of ambition, New York City is nothing short of the Holy Grail. So we decided to make a company about it –an ode to our futures, if you will.

Many people do and make things based on the past, where they are from, what their up bringing was like and so on, which we think is great. So, we are putting the emphasis of our brand not on the past, but on the future. Come with us!

This project has been in the works for several months; we are all in, fully committed and there’s no turning back. We are writing this to you to ask for help. So far we have invested a lot of our own time and money. We believe in us, and we believe in this, and we hope you believe in us, too.

All of our t-shirts are MADE IN AMERICA and our screen printer is a local guy. Having our products manufactured and produced in the United States is very important to us, even though it does drive up the costs.

How to help NEED New York:

• We have carefully calculated and mulled over start up costs for different scenarios and knew from an early start that in order to launch, we would definitely NEED some help.
• Our marketing is a grassroots and viral campaign effort. Every email sent, mention or share on Facebook and Twitter helps us out so much. Please spread the word about NEED New York!
• And of course, you can back us on here with a pledge of your choice!
