Elikeh is striking back again with a new album. This is our best and most creative album we've ever done! Pre-order it!

In 2010, we released the album "Adje!Adje"-  which received great reception from the public and the media (http://www.rockpaperscissors.biz/index.cfm/fuseaction/current.articles/project_id/491.cfm).

With funds from the sales of the CD and gigs, we decided to go back to the studio and follow up with another album in 2012 called "Between 2 Worlds" - that we will release together with our fans!

We are very excited to have some special guests on this album including, the King of Sahara Rock, Vieux Farka Toure (http://www.vieuxfarkatoure.com/), as the lead guitarist on one cut and as a co-producer on another. Also joining us is John Kadlecik (http://www.johnkmusic.net/), lead guitarist and singer of Furthur (Furthur is the continuation of the Grateful Dead -http://www.furthur.net/), and for John K band. John is co-writer and sings and plays lead guitar on one tune as well. The songs were recorded in Togo, Mali, and the US, were mixed at Airshow studio and House of Jam studio in Maryland, and mastered by Grammy-winner Charlie Pilzer.

Now that the studio work is done, we are sending the project to you so you can be part of it!
Even the greatest works of art need help reaching people and can use a serious promotional effort. Our goal here is to raise $6,000, which would enable us to hire a publicist (who will get the recording on the desk of music editors, in the media, on prominent blogs, etc.) and start an east coast tour in support of the album. Although $6,000 is only a portion of what it will take to release and promote this new CD, we want to meet the strict 100% funding goals of Kick Starter (as you may already know, if we don't reach our goal, all of the money raised is returned and the project won't be funded). 

Elikeh is a Washington, DC Afropop band with members from West Africa and the US. The style is a combination of 70's Afro-funk, with some Togolese rhythms, rock, reggae, Afro-beats. The songs are against corruption, oppression and intolerance, but we are also about hope, peace, and celebrating life.

PS - If we reach our goal in 10 days, then we will make the song "Nye Mind na Wo" (featuring John Kadlecik, produced by Massama Dogo and Vieux Farka Toure) available to everyone for free by May 21st.
