Help make this life-sized wax figure project of Colorado's famous clown "Blinky".
Blinky the Clown Wax Figure Project.
The life sized effigy of Colorado's famous TV clown will serve two purposes, first it will be unveiled to celebrate Russell "Blinky the Clown" Scott's brilliant Tv career in Denver, Colorado.
The wax figure premier will be a big media event to not only celebrate the 91 st birthday of this iconic children's personality, but also to help promote a future museum exhibit on the life and career of Russell Scott.
Mr. Scott holds several records including "the longest career of children's television host in American broadcasting" and also" the longest career of a television clown in the world."
For anyone who grew up in the Colorado area from 1958 to 1998, watching Blinky on television , before school, was a memorable part of their childhood.
We have been working for the past 15 years with Mr. Scott and his family on preserving the career of this beloved Colorado legend.
Talks are currently underway with a Denver area museum on an exhibit that would feature original costumes and props from Blinky the Clown and his amazing broadcasting history. A highlight of the exhibit would include the life sized figure of Blinky On a full scale replica of his Fun Club set from the 1970's era.

As you can see from this photo, the figure's head is complete and we are needing to raise the additional funds to sculpt and finish the body, which will be posed next to a replica birthday cake and table from the 1970's cake design.
The figure will be fully dressed including a replica of his plaid jacket, made of fabric imported from Scotland.
Although the figure is called "a wax figure" it will actually be made out of fiberglass so that the display will not be limited to a temperature controlled environment.
Our immediate goal is to complete this figure and host an unveiling event in Denver with Blinky himself as the guest of honor. The event would resemble that of a Madame Tussaud's wax premiere where the celebrity stands beside the life sized figure for both newspaper and television media.
If you remember watching Blinky as a kid, then you understand the passion behind this project. After all...preserving and honoring the career of Russell Scott is also preserving a part of your own childhood.
This is not only a wonderful way to honor Russell Scott, this is a great way to preserve a great part of American broadcast history.
Children's shows of this kind are a thing of the past, but fondly remembered by those who grew up during this era.
Blinky the Clown is without a doubt one of the most famous clowns in the world, our YOUTUBE video of Blinky singing his famous Happy Birthday song has been viewed by nearly 21,000 people!
This wax figure project will commemorate this famous scene from his TV program.
Thank You for your consideration and please kids....stay out of those streets!
