You've probable seen a ton of great shows over the years. But I can guarantee that you've never experienced anything quite like the force of nature that is Peter Brötzmann.

You now have a chance to bring Peter Brötzmann to Minneapolis for an amazing, one-night-only performance at the lovely Aster Café.

Brötzmann plays the saxophones, mostly. Sometimes the clarinets, and maybe even the tárogató, if the mood strikes during a performance. 

Since the start of his recording and performing career in the Fluxus art movement in 1960s Germany, he has appeared on over 100 recordings. His music has remained powerful and undiluted, no matter the popular trends.

The music played is free improvisation. It's jazz in the purest sense. Quiet and introspective at time. Parts will remind you of a hoary tune sung in a Eastern European bar a century ago. And at other times times, this man plays with a force mighty enough to leave the punks and heavy metal fans shaking their heads in awe and wonder. (Maybe even tears.)

Brötzmann will be joined by percussionist Jason Adasiewicz from Chicago (the city, not the band). Adasiewicz is a superb player in a variety of settings--putting him in the duo setting with the legendary Brötzmann will be a real treat for all of us.
