About this project
There are two elements to our project:
PLEASURE Editions: a small press that publishes creative works by
young writers, both members of the Pleasure Collective and others. The
books will be released on a quarterly schedule, and many of them willyoung writers, both members of the Pleasure Collective and others. The
be printed as serials, coming out in each batch as shorter pieces of
longer works--building large-format sagas in discrete chunks. All thebooks will be small runs, published as editions of 50 or 100. Though
not limited to the idea, there is a focus on putting out the written
work of musicians and artists; members of an already existingunderground culture who seek further avenues for expression but areconstrained by the limited world and sorry state of mainstreamliterary publishing. This focus goes hand in hand with our method ofdistribution, as we, musicians ourselves, have until now distributedmany of the Pleasure books ourselves on the road, through our travelsnot limited to the idea, there is a focus on putting out the written
on tour playing music.
The Gorgon: a monthly newsletter written by the Pleasure Collective.
The Gorgon seeks to make use of the past through a conjuration of
histories lesser known, and an invocation of spirits lost in previousbattles whose fervor will serve as seeds for our own new beginningsvia the reexamination of their histories, lives and events brushedagainst the grain. Pieces of interest, household legends and esotericrealities entwine to create for us a path followed in all earnestness,The Gorgon: a monthly newsletter written by the Pleasure Collective.
The Gorgon seeks to make use of the past through a conjuration of

The amount we are asking for will cover the costs of our entire first
year of printing for BOTH the quarterly Pleasure Editions and the
monthly pressing of The Gorgon. The funding will allow us to increase
our circulation and improve the quality of our printing. In the caseof the Editions, funding will allow us to upgrade our bindings andpaper, making use of better printing materials for a more lastingobject. In the case of The Gorgon, we will be able to switch fromThe amount we are asking for will cover the costs of our entire first
year of printing for BOTH the quarterly Pleasure Editions and the
monthly pressing of The Gorgon. The funding will allow us to increase
black and white Xerox to offset printing, which raises the aesthetic
value while helping to create a more permanent object…a periodical
