Asia Pundits wants to expand into a multi-site independent webzine, local news aggregator, and hyper-local directory for users in Asia.

Greetings and thank you for visiting this page. My name is Travis. I'm a 29 year old American currently living and working as an English teacher in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I've spent the last 7 years living and working in Asia, with most of that time spent teaching English in South Korea. 

As I've matured and grown over the years, I've slowly realized that while I enjoy teaching and the interaction I have with my students, my true passion lies in writing and web development.

Over the last year, I've been hard at work, developing an independent media website with the hope of spreading citizen based journalism throughout Asia. The site has grown steadily in popularity over the year and folks genuinely seem to enjoy the writing we put out. At the moment, I'm also working on developing two other sites for users in Asia - one which will be an Asia-wide news aggregation service that will offer quick access to the news people want in their specific country, as well as another site, which will allow for hyper-local interaction of all kinds between users in major urban areas throughout Asia. 

These services will greatly benefit Internet users in Asia and help to spread information, ideas, knowledge, commerce, services etc in a more efficient manner than is happening today.

So far, domain registration fees, hosting fees and software costs are quickly eating through my $1000 dollar a month teaching salary. That, coupled with the facts that I am self-designing the new sites, I need to continually write quality content on the original site, and I'm working full time teaching English basically means I am going sleepless to accomplish my dream.

I have a strong vision and work ethic for these projects, but I lack the financial resources and time to commit myself to them completely.  Quality writers cost money. I need to start paying people to write. My goal is a local journalist in every country in Asia, telling their vision of life and events on a daily basis. Also a professional site manager is going to need to be brought into the equation to make these sites grow and expand in a timely manner. This all costs money, time and energy. I'm full of energy for these projects, but I lack time and money. Please help buy me some time by making a donation. Every hour I don't have to spend teaching is an hour I can spend completing these projects and spreading DIY journalism to the masses of Asia.

Please help me to achieve my goal of spreading independent media throughout Asia, as well as my personal goal of becoming a writer. Any and all donations will be reinvested towards that end and I will be forever thankful to you for your kindness in helping me to achieve my dreams.
