CAN YOU GUYS HELP A STRUGGLING AUTHOR OUT???
Why I'm Using Kickstarter:
I am using Kickstarter to help complete the first book in my DEAD CHRONICLES trilogy. The $799 that I am seeking will be used to reach out to literary agents and publishing houses. My first book Knight Mysteries is available @ Lulu.com (link here). Of course, the more copies of my first book series that are sold, the greater it will look when I shop around the new series.
About my current project:
Book title: OUTBREAK
With his first book in “The Dead Chronicles” series, Denni Towle takes zombie story telling to a whole new level. “Outbreak” is not just another blood and gore zombie shoot out. Mixed in with plenty of action are characters you get to know – love them, hate them, cheer for them, cry for them but most of all you can associate with them.
From the frozen tundras of Green Bay, WI to the sun soaked coasts of Florida, “Outbreak” is a marvelous journey of people trying to understand and survive (some not survive) a world-wide viral infection causing zombie like effects in the people we love. Denni sets a wonderful stage and gets this series in full gear with his entrancing tale on how it could really happen.
So get yourself set to travel into a story of love, hate, friendships, survival, action, life and death. Whether you are a zombie fan or just a lover of good books, “Outbreak” is a novel that will keep you turning pages and hungry for more.
Blurb: “They peeled back. He swore he could feel them peeling back. Yet nothing but darkness filled his vision. His eyes were open, but his eyesight was gone. Thoughts and questions began circulating throughout his mind; thoughts of living with a disability as severe as blindness and questions concerning how this could have happened. His vision was just fine yesterday. Or was it the day before? It was at that moment, seconds after awaking to a world of darkness that he realized he couldn't remember the last few days. After that realization had passed, a more frightening realization came to fruition.”
About my other Books:
Ghost Kiss (Casefile #1), For Drake, everything that happened next was like a blur. He just reacted instinctively. "Drake, STOP!" Dusk yelled, but it was too late. Drake had already begun to lower the candlestick with a crushing blow. He struck the figure on the head with all of his might. The figure crumbled to the floor. Before Drake could even move, Dusk had jumped up and ran over to the figure. "It is your brother!" Dusk said as she rolled the figure over. Drake was still in shock; first of all that Talon could even possibly know that he was at this house in the middle of no where. Secondly, that Dusk knew that he had a brother. He never told her that he had a brother. The only relative that he even mentioned was his father. "He is hurt, aren’t you going to help him?" Dusk asked again, now cradling the figure’s head in her lap.
Dark Pointe (Casefile #2), There was something wrong. Where was Ben Alderwraith's old truck? He couldn't hear the ancient engine that sounded like an outboard motor. He was more than three-quarters of the way down the mile long path. Why couldn't he see the lights to the house? He had been able to see them from the road earlier.
The feeling of dread was so strong that he felt as if his heart was going to burst. He knew what he was going to find when he reached the house. Zeeman and Wellwood. He could only pray that Drake and the Alderwraiths were unharmed. He'd find a way to get them out. He had to. Planning his next move, he finally turned the small bend in the path that led up to the front steps of the house. What met his eyes stopped him dead in his tracks. His brain fought to make sense of what stood before him. "No!" Gasping for breath, he fell to his knees on the crushed stone and clutched the duffel bag to his chest. "Drake!"
The Island (Casefile #3), “Think fast!” 18-year-old Talon Knight thrust a firm fist into the face of his attacker. The masked man recoiled as Talon threw another punch. “Oh, no you don’t!” Talon lunged at the masked criminal, “You’re not going anywhere!”
Talon and the masked man hit the wharf. He pinned the smuggler’s arms behind his back. The man thrashed around trying to get loose.
A strong hand grasped Talon’s shoulder and thrust him upward. Talon lost his grip as a muscular smuggler spun him around and threw a punch at his jaw. Talon avoided the blow and twisted out of the man’s grasp. He ran down the wharf. His attackers followed.
Remember (Casefile #4), Sons of internationally famous private investigator Ash Knight, 18-year-old Talon stood 6’1 with dark hair and blue eyes, as opposed to the fair-haired Drake who was a mere inch shorter. Both brothers were physically fit, but 17-year-old Drake was a muscular build against Talon’s more athletic leanness.
Talon sighed and rubbed at the stain with his sleeve, spreading it further. Tutting, he walked toward the front door and left the house to collect the Avalantis Times from the front lawn. As usual the paper was damp from the morning dew so he slapped it against his hip to remove grass cuttings before returning to the house. He sat down at the breakfast table, snipped the string from around the paper and began to read the front-page story.
After a couple of minutes, he suddenly piped up with: "This sucks…"
"What sucks?" Drake asked.
"Another kid’s gone missing. According to the newspaper that makes three children, all under the age of...
Pandora’s Code (Casefile #5), Drake made a growling noise in his throat and took off again to the other side of the roadway. No other cars came and certainly not Talon’s convertible, even though he wished so hard that it would come charging to the rescue over the breast of the hill. He plunged into the hedgerow and into the trees. A bullet thudded into a trunk next to his ear, the spray of bark blinding him and causing him to stumble and trip. He turned his body instinctively to take it into a roll, but his shoulder didn’t hit the ground first, his back and arms did and then he realized he was tumbling, down and down, over and over. Disorientation, twigs and brambles, thorns tearing at his clothes, grunting every time he hit the ground hard, blind, his eyes streaming. Finally coming to a lurching stop on his side gasping and hurting. He heard another shout from above, more distinct this time “Find him, he can’t be allowed to get away – we need him!”
