Update #7: Now is the time...
Update #6: 2012
Update #5: We did it! Thank You!!
Update #4: First sketches for the film's paintings are in!
I recently received the first sketches by artist Annie Moor upon which the official paintings in HOMER AND PENELOPE will be based. They are beautiful and brilliant. It’s too early to share anything right now as things might change with them and, of course, they’re only a hint at how amazing the full-scale canvases will be.
These paintings are a reward at the $500 level. This might sound steep, but $500 to own an original, 30x40 canvas from a talented artist is a steal. And you get all the rewards included in the lower levels—DVD, screenplay, invitation to an advance screening—so it’s a really great level of support, if I’m allowed to say so.
And it will go toward helping HOMER AND PENELOPE in a big way. Just three backers at this level will get us to the goal.
Thanks for your help!
—Danny

Update #3: Emmy-nominated producer joins HOMER AND PENELOPE
With less than 3 weeks left in the campaign for HOMER AND PENELOPE, I thought I'd update you on the project and share some wonderful news. Not only do we have just under $1,700 to go, but Emmy-nominated producer Arthur Hurley has joined the film! I'm so excited to have him on board—his passion and expertise will be tremendous assets to HOMER AND PENELOPE.
Arthur has produced some really compelling films including THE WASHINGTON BUREAU and DRIVING AN ARAB STREET, which has been aired on PBS and screened at the Vancouver Int'l Film Festival, Copenhagen Int'l Documentary Film Festival, and Southern Exposure Film Festival.
He's also a talented cinematographer and editor, most notably for National Geographic and the 2010 film BETA TO THE MAX. So, needless to say, he brings a wealth of experience to the project.
Thank you again to all who have pledged, and please continue to spread the word about HOMER AND PENELOPE.
Thanks!
—Danny

Hello film lovers!
I am a writer and director who has made numerous narrative films, music videos, and documentaries. I started a small production company (Cinema With Cinema) early last year as a way to develop, produce, and distribute my own films as well as those of other passionate filmmakers creating work outside the mainstream.
My 16mm short film, DAMIEN, has screened at several festivals and PIECES OF A MAN, a feature-length screenplay, was a finalist in the 2010 Blazing Quill Screenwriting Competition. I also produce, direct, and edit KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON, a documentary series about artists and their day jobs.
Feature films are the next step for me as an artist and I would truly appreciate your support in this endeavor. With your help HOMER AND PENELOPE will be my feature directorial debut.
Thank you again!
GOOD LUCK IN YOUR VENTURE.
