Massive touring burlesque company needs to convert our new bus, its way cheaper than renting a gas guzzling RV!!
Hi!
We are Super Happy Funtime Burlesque. We are a 20 member theatrical troupe that stages its own style of musical theater that incorporates elements of burlesque into our captivating musical performances. We are a live band, a theatre troupe, a bunch of perverts, comedians, and much more. You may have seen us play in your town. This past summer, thanks to our Kickstarter fundraiser that netted us $18,000, we were able to go on our first national tour from Michigan to California and back.
We learned a lot on that tour. We learned that this is what we want to do all the time and we learned it is not easy. As we are such a big show we encounter challenges even a larger sized touring rock band never has to deal with. Transporting 20 people safely across the country is no easy task but now with a tour under our belt and a lot of experience driving and living in bigger vehicles we have a clear picture of what we need... so we bought a bus!!!
Buying a used school bus is the most cost effective method for our troupe. Rather than spending money on all the bells and whistles that come with an RV or a used Greyhound, a used school bus gives us a basic and blank template we can build upon. We can customize it to have sleeping quarters, dressing area, gear storage, and even convert it to bio diesel. But first, we need the basics. We need to make sure it can safely take us 7000 miles over 40 days this April. We need bunks so we can sleep in it, we need to insulate it, run electric, and make storage units for our equipment. Since our return from the tour, 100% of what we've earned has gone straight into buying this bus but now, with only 3 months until we hit the road, there is only so much performing our show live can earn and only so much we can do with it. We need your help to get it road ready!!
