Update #3: Cancelling Kickstarter (For Now!)
Hi to all of our amazing supporters!
First of all, thank you to everyone that contributed, we are blown away but your awesome generosity! That said, we have some bad news about The Reenactors.
We have been working with the Prince William County Convention and
Visitors Bureau since about November of 2010. They agreed to our terms
and encouraged us to send over our location contracts to be signed and
returned. However, come May, Prince WIlliam County unexpectedly decided
to deny permission to all documentaries attempting to cover the
reenactment of 1st Manassas.
We have spent the last month trying to get answers and fighting hard
for them to reconsider. However, our phone calls, letters, and emails
fell on deaf ears. As a result, we will no longer be able to travel to
Manassas in July, and have decided to put our production on hold for the
time being.
This setback may be out of our control, but we are still very excited about The Reenactors. We are looking into the reenactments of Shiloh and Antietam in 2012, and we will continue to grow until then.
In the meantime, we have are canceling our Kickstarter funding. Because of these changes, we have decided that it would be only fair to refund that money that has been donated to us. As the next major reenactment nears, we will call on you support again and hopefully have another amazing fund raising experience!
Thank you again for your support, and we hope you will continue to watch our progress.
Sincerely,
Megan & Nick
Update #2: Successful Test Shoot!
Hi Everyone!
This past weekend was a big deal for us here at War Dance Pictures! Our producer, Nick Scofield, participated in his first reenactment ever! He was portraying the 12th Missouri of the
Federal XV Corps with the Armory Guard. Be sure the check our blog in the next few days as he will be writing up a piece about his experience.
We also had two of our camera operators, David Torcivia and Rebekah Cheyne, shoot some test footage from the event! They came out with some amazing photographs as well! Please check out David's Flickr stream for more!
Thanks again for your support! We're so close to production and can't wait to hit the road!
Take care,
Megan Mitchell & Nick Scofield

Update #1: Goal Reached!
Thanks to the extreme generosity of all of our backers, we have managed to raise enough money to cover our production insurance! We are absolutely blown away by the love and support from our friends, family, and followers. People have been contributing across the board in all sorts of amazing ways. Because of you guys, we are one step closer to making our dream a reality.
Some people have already asked if it's too late to donate, and our answer is of course not! Any further donations will go to hotel rooms, travel, and taking care of our crew. We have plenty of time left!
Thank you!
Megan & Nick

We are Megan Mitchell and Nick Scofield. Both of us are natives from Georgia, but have since moved to Los Angeles and created War Dance Pictures. War Dance Pictures is a small production company whose sole purpose is to tell great stories. One such story was introduced to us by a close friend who is a Civil War reenactor. Having always been intrigued by Georgia's rich Civil War history, we found the world of reenacting fascinating. Since then, we have set out to tell the stories of these living historians, and ask the question: "who are the reenactors?".
