THE PROPERTY is a feature film about idealists on an inherited estate whose fantasy lifestyle is suddenly threatened from within.
Twenty days in to our fundraising and we have reached our initial goal of $2,000. WOW. We are truly grateful for your faith and support.
For
every additional $500 we raise during this Kickstarter campaign, we are
able to pay for a full day of shooting on location in Bucks and
Philadelphia counties.
A full day of local actors, local
artists, local businesses and local technicians working together to
craft a film we cannot wait to show you.
Our total budget—and funding goal for the film—is $20,000. Knocking this first goal out of the park feels amazing, and the momentum will propel us through our winter pre-production.
We want to take this generous outpouring you’ve shown us and invest it back into our local arts community as we bring “The Property” to life.

The Project
What Had Happened Was Productions invites you to be part of our grass-roots/community-building approach to creating a major motion picture: our feature film “The Property.”
Under the direction of Scott Hudson (a Temple University film alum), filming is set to begin next July in Philadelphia and Bucks County.
With the help of an exceptional production crew, we are honored to be bring WHHW Production's first feature film to the screen.
Who exactly is WHHW Productions?
What Had Happened Was Productions was formed in February, 2011… but the real start of this collective began nearly fifteen years ago when friendships formed. We could trace further back, trying to recall when we first fell in love with movies.
We promise honest, provocative cinema. We promise not to squander this opportunity.
Read our core company Mission, Value, and Vision Statements here.
But, wait. Who exactly are WHHW?
Christian Armstrong, our Sound Designer and Score Composer, has his music available on MySpace. He has been the songwriter and lead singer for the band Pilot's Wish since 2005. Please feel free to listen to the music of Pilot's Wish and to browse their concert photos.
Dee Donaghy, Executive Producer, is an English and theatre teacher. She has a special place in her heart for the community of Hartford, Vermont following the production of their 2010 One Act play, an adaptation of Cariani's "Almost, Maine." Additionally, she is a stargazer, wonder-er, and wanderer.
Scott Hudson, our writer and Director for this project, graduated from Temple University this summer with a degree in film. He has been creating short films for the last ten years, and this will be his first feature film.
Jamie Rubin, our First Assistant Director, is a second generation performer and puppeteer. His company, Kids Stuff Puppets, is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jamie is currently adapting a best-selling novel for the screen for WHHW Productions second feature film.

What are we doing?
You see-- you've found us at a critical moment, and for that we are thankful.
The production won't happen without funding, and we will not get any Kickstarting funding unless we meet our goal.
None of this will materialize without the support of a large extended family and the generous contribution of saintly strangers.
This opportunity, right now as you sit at home, to contribute to this film is not to be taken lightly. You would be showing faith in our story, in our talent, and in our potential.
In an industry so burdened with multimillion dollar budgets, we are four people with a story we believe in. And we believe in ourselves. We want to show you our story. And to do so, we need your commitment to this venture.
This project is about community, both on and off camera. We are not just soliciting donations, we are looking to foster a dialogue with each of you where film and film-making are explored. We are asking for your involvement.
A community of creative saintly strangers.
Anyone viewing this knows what an amazing thrill and challenge it is to will a creative project into existence. But that it takes more than will and talent, it takes a community effort to produce greatness.
The joy of being able to share what we have created—the reel of our first film, the first fruit of years of effort, talent, and friendship—is priceless. Please consider your role in this undertaking, and thank you for visiting our Kickstarter campaign page.
Please join us in our adventure to create, to tell people what had happened... was.

FAQ
-
Have no fear! Only you and WHHW Productions will be able to see the pledge amount.
-
All of our incentives will ONLY happen if we meet our fundraising goal. When we meet our goal, immediately after our deadline we will start to manufacture and ship all physical merchandise directly to you.
Some items cannot be created until after we complete our principal photography and post-production. The DVDs, polished soundtracks, and screenings can only happen after the film is completed. This will take some time, so please be patient with us.
Contributors can track the process by following our exclusive Kickstarter Video Blog updates on our website, www.whhwfilms.org
-
Not a problem! There is a button that you can select if you don't want the reward on the donation page. Thank you for helping us bring our script to screen!
-
Why, aren't you sweet! Yes, of course you can give any WHHW rewards as a gift.
After you contribute, we will send you a message on Kickstarter regarding your reward. Simply reply with the person's information whom you'd like to receive the reward and we will send it to that address.
