A public installation art piece involving hundreds of QR code-stamped vinyl records, a newsroom, and a meta QR Code mural.
VOLKREKORD is an installation piece for the July 2012 visual art show, Paper News: I Am the Printing Press. Paper News will hit news stands (Assemble Space for Art and Technology) in Pittsburgh, PA. Paper News is an interactive, ecologically conscious, experimental visual arts show exploring issues of media consumption.
This is where you come in! The Brainwashing Chamber/Newsroom (VOLKREKORD) is part of the show--picture for yourself a small newsroom--the floor covered in vinyl records that do not show the names of songs on their center--but unique QR codes that lead to different websites, images, and short text.
On the wall, a giant QR Code mural has taken form--but instead of one code, it is a conglomerate of over 300 different codes forming one larger one. You can have your QR code inserted into this piece and the printing press will even produce a custom meta qr code for you!
